Although I never raced at La Costa during the glory days of the mid 1970s, I have been lucky enough to meet a quite a few of those who did. My tickets have been purchased, my suitcase packed and the gas tank filled...

In traditional sports this would be like a fan being invited to a reunion of the 1969 New York Jets and getting to hang out with Joe Willie Namath, Larry Grantham, Don Maynard and all the rest.

Never actually raced at La Costa back then (I totally sucked at slalom back then), but I made it down there a few times. I was more into the downhill freestyle that was going on. The stuff that the Logans and Ty Page were doing at high speed was absolutely mind blowing (especially Page running the slalom courses doing nose wheelies)...
