is there a competition type in which you point your board straight downhill and see who gets down a piece of road in the least ammount of time?

no turns (except for the ones built into the road), none of this cone stuff, just speed.

i'm better at speed on the ski hills, so would it not make sense to have a FAST downhill skateboard discipline?

Yes; it's called Speedboarding. It's done at the X-Games, the Gravity Games, Red Bull pulls a few every year, we have one at Sandia every year. We have one or two pros on the board here; including speedsmouse, who was third in the world last year.
