I tried ncdsa cyber once last year in Stockholm... I'll try to find my time...
Any of you tried french cyber? We do that a lot more often here, but admittedly haven't done it in a while... It would be cool to have a few more entries in our ranking...
40 cones, 1m80 center to center, flat spot, unlimited pushing... 8)

I like the idea of cyber as a training tool. You would think that living in a town called "Sun Prairie" it would be really flat here, but surprisingly not. I'm having a hard time finding a long flat spot of pavement. I may have to settle for the slight grade and average the uphill and downhill times ... Pumping uphill sux delux. Whatever doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger, right?
Just got back from a little cyber session with Guilaume and Frederic... with some new times!
We started out with some NCDSA cyber than went on adding a few more cones and pushing a little more and did some french cyber...
Here are the ncdsa times...
Patrick ALLAN 7.865 sec
Guillaume SAINT-CRIQ 8.451 sec
Frédéric HUYNH BACH SAC 9.340 sec
'twas a good session... 8)

I have to ask it: Was the start tapeswitch in the same location for both cyberslalom and the French Cyber courses?
Michael
Finally... I was waiting for some kind of reaction at least...
It's good to hear from you Michael, it looks like you haven't posted any new times for a while and the last time I saw you at race was in Stockholm. You had given me (and others) a lot of good tips that day for cyber and it's very much thanks to you that I managed to do so well...
As for the tapeswitches, we had already messed this up before, by setting the end tapeswitch on the last cone a couple months ago during an outlaw race (here are the results - http://pirateslalom.online.fr/v2/res...p#course_9_4_1 ) so we didn't want to mess anything up this time and did everything according to the rules...
So no, the start tapeswitch was not in the same location. It was 15 feet before the first cone for the ncdsa cyber and on the first the cone for the french cyber.
However the spot where we ran the courses is very flat, so we didn't think it was necessary to run the course both ways (it was too much of a pain to switch the timer and we wanted to run french cyber...) but we will run it the opposite way next time...
Hope to see you in Paris...

Damn, Patrick, that's ridiculous! What have you been eating?
[checks to make sure times were not posted on April 1]
Seriously, that's an amazing time. If memory serves, you're only the second person to go below 8 seconds. Guillaume's time is also very good, and Fred's is quite respectable as well. Where did you do this? Indoor or outdoor? Concrete or asphalt? What was your setup?

here's the spot, totally flat, nice and smooth asphalt... there were a few bumps in it though towards the end, I think they came from scaffoldings that had been set up recently for some work on the arcades...
setup - Insect Sidewinder / russian proto front - RTS rear / hotspots 89-86
first time I tried the hard wheels... felt good for straight...
next challenge is the french cyber... went down to 8.5sec clean (only managed to do that once...) however I was doing some rough times around 8.1 - 8.2 a few times but knocking down two many cones each time... Going below 8sec will be the next step.
