Very nice, Uber grippy shoes for slalom
So I have begun to venture into the world of slalom, and it instantly becomes clear how important it is to have solid grip on the deck. I am a pretty avid climber, and have found that my approach shoes, which are Five-Ten, guide tennies are a really nice shoe for slalom. Five-Ten primarily makes climbing shoes but they also make shoes for other applications, and they all use Stealth rubber on their soles. They also have shoes meant for downhill mountain biking/mountain boarding which uses the same Stealth Dot rubber as my guide tennis and would make a killer skate shoe! This rubber Is REALLY Grippy! It would wear out pretty quick under foot-braking but that is not too important for a slalom specific application. All of these shoes can be re-soled pretty easily anyway. You could even order a resole kit of some Stealth Dot, or even C4 and resole your current skate shoes. I thought some of you guys might take an interest in a Serious steroid boost to your grip!

Those things look like freakin moon boots man.
I skate in the cheapest shoes I can find that resemble a skate shoe.
I even found what I like to call fans, there fake Vans with the same waffle grip soles, but cost 14 bucks instead of 40 bucks.
But whatever, if they work for you rock them till they fall apart. Just know that you may be required to footbrake alot more at races then you think, and finding a 12 buck shoe helps alot.
So does a pack of PBR.

I've been thinking about this for several years and never done it. It's getting time for a new pair of shoes though and rather than fork out $60-$100 for anything that fits my super wide feet I think I'm just gonna 5.10 a couple of pairs of worn out favorites. Thanks fer the reminder man!

Yeah, the impacts are big and ugly, but the guide tennies are really low profile. No need to get all Jersey on the poor moon boots! Ha ha! Id like to session with you guys the next time Joe sets up a slalom paractice!
But anyway, its all about the Rubber. The resole kits are prett'damn affordable, and would keep your favorite shoe grippin like a doberman locked on your a$$. I would cut the resole in half, between your heel, and the ball of your foot. That way you could replace the heel or the ball individually when they wear out. I Hate to wear cheapo, uncomfortable, unsupportive shoes, but I also dont like to buy expensive ones knowing that I will just burn through the soles.
