    Default Slalom & More - Oct. 14-15 -- Georgia

If you are in the area -- come out and join us for an action-packed weekend of slalom & freestyle -- Georgia style. Kicking things off on Saturday with a slalom clinic in the morning and then switching gears in the afternoon for a freestyle jam/clinic. This is an excellent opportunity to hone your skills or to try something new. If you've never tried an AXE before -- here's your chance -- plus get personal coaching from the one who designed it. Everyone is welcome. Sunday is for slalom racing -- the perfect ending to a great weekend. AXE Army will be out in force!

Clinic, Jam, Race -- and it's free too!

Huge props to Woody's Halfpipe Boardshop in Georgia for sponsoring/hosting this event. Woody's is a cool local source for freestyle & slalom gear -- show them some love for supporting the scene!

Sounds like Georgia has a cool Axe Army scene thanks to Marty S., Ron O., and Woody's Halfpipe. Take from me, if you want to learn ALOT about slalom in a SHORT period of time come to this event and ask Richy or Marty for help. They know their stuff and are both really cool to hang out with. Of course, Maria is too and alot nicer!

Cool Re: Slalom & More - Oct. 14-15 -- Georgia

A tad bit sore from a slam into rocks/gravel last week, still plan on going though it'll be a busy weekend=trade st. friday, sat. clinic, sun. outlaw followed by a good 4 hour drive home. Richie can't wait to meet you after reading about your family and the pepsi team back when in the day.

Wow -- What a great time! Stoked to be among so many friends over in Georgia. John Karg, Woody's Halfpipe and the whole local scene there is the Bomb! This was good stuff -- love to go back any time. Here's a group shot of the racers who showed on Sunday:

This is a quote from Richy as posted elsewhere:

Still settling in from Woody's skate weekend! It is refreshing to see skateshops that are acknowledging the diversities in skateboarding. John's skateshop is one of these shops that will bring a big smile to any old schooler that makes the journey!

Saturday's slalom clinic and freestyle jam -- Great surface so I was able to bust out my steelies for some spins. It was great to be able to coach and give tips in a low key set up like this. Everybody did great. Thanks Vanheesie! for the BBQ finishing off the night. Sunday's Hybrid dual racing -- It was great to see the local stoke and check out one of their skate spots. We would have had a fun GS, but some trucker drove through and smashed one of the timer sensors. So we ended up doing some old GS training that we used to do out here -- forming a line from fastest to slowest and trying to run the guy off the road in front of you!

Maria and I had a blast! Thanks to The Karg family, Marty Schaub for making sure we didnt get lost, Keith Hollien for making the trip, and all the crew for coming out!! Dixie Cup here we come! Go Axe Army!!!!!!
