    Default Beginner set-up

What would be a good beginner set up, from the board, tot he trucks to the wheels and the bearings.. im tired of my S9 mini not pumping... i need something that i can learn to slalom on, and that is decent.. id like it to be relativly cheap, under 350 complete, anyone want to take a stab at it?

350 is 3 times what you need for a totally competitive setup that's also a great first slalom board: the Sk8Kings Axe or Axe II. Go to Sk8Kings.com and look at the Axe completes. Get one with ZigZags. Richy Carrasco himself (one of the top slalom racers on the planet) will build that board custom to suit you, for about $150.00. He's also known to spend time on the phone giving tips and encouragement to skaters that ask for it. The Axes are purpose-built boards that teach proper foot placement, put pumping power to the road and look cool, too.

    Boom, you're done. 8)

2nd the Sk8kings Axe series. Recently put together an Axe II and really like the results. Didn't order the complete and ended up spending about $15.00 more with piece by piece.

i 3rd an axe. albiet an axe 1, seeing how that has been the only axe ive spent extensive time on. axes do a very good job into forcing your stance into a "correct" stance ("correct for my style of riding, may differ for other riders).

try an insect city bomber with trackers and some zz's. that would be a nice pumping/giant slalom board that is long enough for you to roll around town and commute wiht.

Personally I think I'm going to get Skaterbuilt ConeKiller TS as my first slalom board, I just think they look amazing and I want one no matter what. What would be a good suggestion for trucks though? I don't have the money to drop on radikals.

Im going to beat everyone to it and say Tracker RTS/TRX.

I personally dont like them, but since you cant really get Indy 109s anymore, its the next best thing.

I bought a used skateboard from MHM, a proto of the subsonic lowland32 with a indy front and an airflow back, pink sicksicks and biltins for 160 dollars, awesome deal and it pumps like nobodies business. If youre willing to spend that much maybe the airflow back might be worth it. The subs is a nice board too.

A note on used stuff.. seeing the condition of used and vintage stuff on the fish for sale compared to my skateboards makes me feel like a skateboard raper.
