    Default khiro rail wedges

Anybody like the Khiro "rail" wedges vs. full rubber or full hard wedges?

I love the rail risers. So much that I needed to buy another set! You can real customize and dial in your settings with all the different degrees. Say you want your rear truck raised up, but not severley de-wedged, you'd use like a 5 or 6 degree de-wedge and then stack a 2 or 3 degree the opposite direction. This would leave you from 2 to 4 degrees of wedge. I use them on every board I have besides my drop-thru.

i don't use them... i don't like the idea of the lack of support throughout the bottom of the truck's base or at least at some point in the middle. this puts all the load at the flanges where the baseplate is the weakest. when pressure isn't applied to either rail the weight is all in the center where there is no real support. when pressure is applied to one rail the flanges are twisted oposite each other whilst the kingpin twists in the middle ever so slightly with every vibration. it may take a long time but eventually something's gotta give.

i like em for the flexability they provide. you've got all kinds of diferent angles to use to wedge and dewedge.

honestly that is just kinda dumb. just put one or two 1/8 flat risers under it

I was about to say that I thought they were for top mounts.
But then I remembered the site has them pictured underneath...

It's great that they have so many angles, but other than package size reduction I can't see why they're so thin.

i really like using them. for now i use 1 slalom deck for everything.
i can tune my front truck for tight/hybrid/GS exactly the way i need
it. i was using them on the rear, but now that i switched to a splitfire,
i use either a single flat or angled [hard] riser.

shapeshifter, you do have an interesting point. and i must blame
you, as i see myself doing some math today...thanks alot!

sorry about that sir... i hope i'm not making matters worse by mentioning that: i'm not sure if people really notice that when using a system of risers that puts the fulcrum of the angle change at either end of the truck's hanger drastically affects the height of the axle. sometimes this works adversely with angle change's effect on the rate of lean to turn on any standard truck geometry.

khiro makes great products to help us "fix" trucks to ride properly and i do love those wedges for slalom.
BUT, chaput's "making" trucks to remove this need of "fixing" truck's angles to work properly.........i can't WAIT for those trucks, so all this "fiddling with angles" #### will become obsolete.
i admit, it's great to have the knowledge to "do it right", but how will others (those wanting to learn) ever get into the multitude of growing non-street skate disciplines if you can't buy a product without needing to "know how" to wedge risers for it to ride properly, especially when the "knowledge" is constantly debated by those in "the know.".....

I like the wedge-rail kit, a lot, and use them to tune a lot of different boards. I particularly like how they're "minimum height" for the angles, so I can build boards without having to lift-kit them unless I want to. We've got a lot of use on a few boards with the tallest of the wedge rails in them, and haven't had any breakage or wiggling around yet, even with heavy riders on rough courses, so it may be that well-secured hardware resolves that issue, dunno.

My second choice are the harder rubber wedges. They're also about as short as they can be for an angle and work great to smooth out the ride.

$10, folks will still use wedges even when Chappy puts out the Fyre. (haha punnery...)

They're cheaper than buying a load of plates and they're universal.

Isabelle hit the nail right on the head! I am new to slalom, but confused as hell about all the different things associated with setting up a slalom board for TS, GS, etc....... I thought I was a fairly smart gal, but geeze!

Search for "GOG" in the Trucks forum, and you'll find more info on those trucks. Also, look for "Scriber", for more.
