    Default Uphill hybrid slalom course

A few weeks ago, My crew and I hit up our regular slalom spot only to find our nice shallow downhill run had some severe +/-20mph headwind. So we turned the course around and ran it uphill. The gusts were so powerful, pumping was barely needed. We got wise to the wind, and opened our jackets like sails. Some runs I was being pushed so fast by the wind and mild pumping, I was missing cones because I was going TOO FAST. I was really gnarly!

Its totally possible and a good way to build up strength in your pump if you are training for a race or something.

    But Pssssshh, who trains?

Thumbs up Re: Uphill hybrid slalom course

I have to say, pumping uphill has helped my skating tremendously, it really helps with arm placement-- not to mention building up the leg muscles in the mean time!
