    Default Setting Up Slalom Trucks

    So I got my board from Sk8kings, and though I'm very grateful to Richy for setting up my board for me, I'd like to know how to go about it so I can tweak and experiment.

    I tried putting in a khiro yellow top and bottom in my back truck, but they don't allow me to tighten up the truck like i did when I had two superball bottoms in it. and could you run a white top and bottom in the front truck? basically, how do you all go about setting up your trucks?

    How much do you weigh, what kind of deck, what kind of course?

    I weigh around 160, I ride TS on an Axe 1 with RTS/X and Lime Zigs all around.

    whites up front, top & bottom. reds in back, or red on blue in back...[?]

    when you change bushings, lay your board on it's grip. then push a wheel
    down to where it nearly touches the deck. it should spring back up, but
    without being "sloppy". make any sense?

    and the bushings in back don't have to both be bottoms even if the top/bottom doesn't allow me to tighten the truck as much as two bottoms? basically, does the back truck have to be super tight? or just a little more stable than the front?

    okay, sorry to threadjack here, but when i do that ^^ with my bushings, the trucks are ALWAYS too loose. what i usually do is kneel on the board, grab stinkbug, and lean hard heelside to see if i can get a finger between the wheel and the board (you know, to prevent wheelbite)...i guess what i'm asking is, is this a good method for setting up a slalom board, or in slalom are you supposed to use a helluva lot of riser...like, so much riser that wheelbite is never an issue?
    yes, an uber-grippy, square-lipped slalom wheel IS the best for sliding

    Definitely whites up front, but two red Khiros will make the back pretty stiff. Red and blue Khiros in the back might be OK, but don't be afraid to go even softer in the back if you want.

    It also depends massively on how fast you'll be going - what feels stiff at 20 feels loose at 35.

    so i put the khiro yellow top and bottom in the back and tightened it up, but it makes this clicking noise when i turn sometimes, is this normal?

    I think that's the bushing sliding around or moving around, might have to tighten just a bit more, I have the same clicking with my stock Randal reds in my rear truck. I could be wrong though.

    Really apologize for slight thread jacking, but I just tried oranges and whites in the front and what I like to do is make an hourglass with two tops. Unfortunately, from pumping my 210 lb body around, the bushings are distorted and basically a soft bushing is stretching over the harder one in the hourglass. Is there any way i can achieve the softness of the khiro white and oranges with another set of bushings? I figure it might be time to start spending money on bushings such that I won't kill them in a day, like yesterday. My board pumped better than ever with them, but they're sliding around and the hole became mishapen Thanks for any help
