Default Axe I vs. Axe II

So I'm wondering, what makes the Axe II suited for all courses vs. the Axe I which is said to be strictly TS even though it's only an inch shorter?

Wheel base.........A TS board has really really short WB in comparison to HS. Where a sucky old guy like myself can make a HS board do a TS slowly no way can I reverse that and run a TS board on HS and definatly not on a techie GS. HS boards are the perfect one board compromise for a newbie starting out. you can get the WB short enough to get through a TS course 19" and long enough to do a techie GS 20.5" and of course everthing in between. I run my Fullbag at 20" WB and get through a 5.5' straight slalom with work and 6'-7' offsets with little problem...mind you I in no way consider myself fast but I'm really more interested in being clean at this point (especially with my soccer cones)

The Axe 2 is wider in front and back ,the most versitale board 20inch and 21 inch wb, The new Bomber is the same width as the 2 but with the wheelbase of the 1 , I have big feet for a short dude 11and half 12 .... The 1 is the flagship Axe ! Oi!

I just rode my new Fat AXE I Bomber today and it totally rips!!! The new tech grip top laminate really gives amazing traction and even though it's wider than the original AXE I, it's lighter as well! I love this board!!! Hats off to Richy and Maria for continually bringing out new and innovative products! The new Fat AXE I is a definite improvement over the original AXE I.

Maria , or Ritchie, ..... or anyone.
Can you tell me if the Axe 2 thats currently being sold on the sk8kings website has that groovy top lam for the griptape?
The Fat Axe shows it in the page but the other Axe models dont seem to mention it.

The Axe1 can also kill a man easier than the Axe2. This may or may not
get you a DQ from the race official. Results will vary depending on your
    area.

    Those new decks are hot!

Leadfoot -- only the newest decks to the AXE Series (Fat AXE I, 2.5 and the Kramer model) have the Tech-Grip top and micro-vaneer construction. The original AXE I, II & III don't have it since this is a new construction feature that we have incorporated. Still VERY functional in any case and being ridden successfully by the AXE Army. Cheers!
