    Default Truck Question

Hey, I was just wondering how loose the trucks should be on a slalom setup. Mine are loosened as much as they can till they bite. Like when I go about like faster than like 10 or 15 I cant turn because ill get speed wobbles. How loose should they be.

Do you happen to think you may have answered you own question. If you get wheel bite, you need more riser. And you probably need stiffer bushings, but there really isn't enough info. Maybe you have the right bushings but the king pin is too loose.

    1-You need risers, angled preferably.
    2-How much do you weigh?

my method of setting up trucks is as much wheel related as it is riser/bushing related. I like really loose trucks and I weight 210lbs so I tend to run Khiro blues and oranges on slalom boards. Blues and reds on nearly all my other boards. I like a low board and not much in the way of risers so I end up with 66mm wheels instead of 70mm to prevent wheelbite on my Slalom boards and smaller wheels on most other boards for the same reason. Loose is one thing but rattle is annoying so I always snug kingpins a bit more than normal just to insure silence

i think you misheard. They just barely dont bite. I have two wedged risers on each truck. I weigh 150. Like when I try and go faster than 10-15 I cant pump through cones. So how loose should they be?

It can be very misleading for new riders. Don't be afraid to tighten them up a bit. They don't need to be floppy. Especially when you are running looser/faster courses such as Hybrid and GS. Remember, at higher speeds, you actually need less effort to turn. The effect is magnified at higher speeds, which is one of the reason for speed wobbles. it takes lots of tunig to find the right balance. At the top of a course, you are traveling slower and need to make the turns, at the bottom of the course, you are traveling much faster and need the stability while going fast. The trick is to find the happy medium.

You'll find you will be adjusting with every different course you run... at least I do!

hes running RTX/s with whit barrel top, orange bottom. back trucks has some superballs in them but i forgot which duro. its on an AXE II and it was assempled by sk8kings. so it was made for his weight since sk8kings does that on their completes, but having tried his set up, i can say the front was even to turny for me, and im 125.

hmm...I run an RTX in the front with orange and white Khiro barrells and I ain't seen 125 since the 7th grade!

If it's too turny, try a blue and an orange
