    Default splitfire/avila width

i have a pavel foamcore (not a current model but is 34 inches long and quite wide) set up with green 70mm zig zags and splitfire trucks spaced as wide as they will go and i am haveing problems with it tipping (two wheels on one side going up in the air while i turn hard.) this only happens at slow speeds when i am building into a fast pump and can not lower my body to keep weight over the board.

i know my current set up is a little narrow and was wondering if anyone knew the overall width (outside lip to outside lip) of a set of avila's on a splitfire 107 fully spaced out? i dont have any avila's readily available to test this for myself any help would be appreciated.

    thanks.

which gen splits are you riding, and how are they wedged? what bushings...
it just sounds like you have the trucks setup improperly

they are the latest gen (not sure what gen that is) with the spherical bearing and am riding blue kiro's all round (two barrels on back and barrel conical up front) with back de wedged front wedged forward (one wedge on each only). i am quite heavy though about 90 kilos.

There is about 1 and a half centimetres of overhang both sides of the board at the widest part. i think the heavy concave might also help it to tip. still love riding the board just wanting to fix this minor annoyance.

Sounds like your trucks are about the right width
for your deck, just don't go slow.

At 90K try harder bushings in back, The blues should be
    about right in front.

OK...try 2 wedges on the front...is it a 50 degree baseplate? I ran mine with a 17 degree wedge on front with a 50 degree plate
also...use softer bushings in front..try white white or white orange (I weigh 235lbs and I rode white barrel/white bitch front and reds on back)

if that doesnt work, use the splits as rears and run GOG fronts

yeah i have the 50 degree plate up front and the 35 in the rear. will try what you said and use another wedge and softer bushings but am still keen to find out the width with avila's.

and as for buying a front gog... i only have one slalom board and i dont have the cash for one. the splits were my huge extravagant purchase.

thanks for the reply. out of curiosity how much is a gog.
