I'm looking into getting a board for LDP. I've narrowed my choices down to these two boards. I weigh 115lbs and I'm 5' 7". I want to know what the differences are between the two boards and the advantages that each has.
I've never really worked with wedging or anything like that, so my setup will probably just be based off of other things I see around the fish. I was thinking bennet 6.0s all around or bennet 5.0 front, tracker 149mm RT-S rear.
I've already read everything on pavedwaved site, and I've alread searched the pulse and mermaid for all the info i could get.
can't wait to hear what you all have to say. Thanks in advance for the help
You will probably receive your Subsonic order when Scott tells you it will be done...
The Roe.. if you were to base a prediction on history you probably wouldnt receive it when promised
I have both. I like the subsonic more. Both are great boards, the stiffer Subsonic works better for me. The roe has camber and a bit of flex vs the pulse having a stiffer feel. YMMV. Do you like a bit of flex or stiff power directly to the ground. You have to decide by what you like. Why not run a Bennett 4.3 or 4.0 front and a 129 rts in the rear,, I do not think there is any reason to go wider. Either way really you can't go wrong. Email Pavedwave and ask him if Roe is getting their stuff out faster, I think he said they were.

At present, I think only Subsonic, Roe, and Galac cater to this market.
All make great products...delivery time varies..
Bennett 5.0 (129mm) and matching RTS rear seems to be a prefeered setup.
Don't forget Long board Larry, the landyachtz evo makes a great ldp, although heavy. Dustm, makes one that looks nice. I am sure there are others, I have not had my coffee yet. That being said there are many boards that will work, only a few specific.

I have considered the same two boards, and I find myself leaning more towards the Pulse for some reason. I have ridden the Mermaid several times though, and it is extremely nice. Very very comfortable platform underfoot, and responsiveness that makes it work like a machine. My current LDP setup is a little unorthadox for LDP but works Amazing for me anyway. It is a Rayne Vice with Bennet 5.0 w/yellow stim and white khiro barrel wedged around 5 degrees in front, and a tracker sixtrack in back with a blue stim and yellow bone dewedged 5 or 10....cant remember which. The flex of this board is near extreme, and really changes the geometry of the trucks while pumping and carving. You could consider this for yourself if you wanted a sort of dual purpose LDP/carve monster
The Roe is art on wheels, gorgeous to look at and better to ride. Very versatile, amazing LDP, out of curiosity ran it in the semi- tight slalom at the Oregon State Games in Salem to a 4th in open class, and ran the Mosier GS hill in total confidence. I am a lighter rider too and appreciate the flex to generate speed.
The past issues with production/delivery times are all solved and you can get a board right away.

Subsonic doesn't have camber? or is it not noticiable compare to Roe?
I'm considering both and I know I want stiff... I was more into Roe, and now, you kinda changed my view towards Pulse..
Sooo damn hard to choose...
I would get Bennett5.0, 129 RTS
as for waiting, I don't even care, I've already experienced it with my PS32.. (about 25days of going crazy!!)
all I know the Wait is Very Worth of Time..... when I received it.. it Almost made me cry...
so if I'm hearing the correctly, the Roe has more flex (and snap?), and the pulse is stiffer and more raw power.
here's another question: the Mermaid has the option of camber-concave or low camber. I'm wondering what the difference is, what the benefits are of each, and what the owners of each think. If you have compared the two, I'd love to hear your analysis as well.

I have low camber PS32 and it's little cambered.. I also want to know about camber concave
