I might be wrong but I think Stingers and the Turner La Costas came out of the same mold. They were the only thing available in early 2002 but as soon as the first Avalons came on the market (March '02?), the smaller core wheels were just overwhelmed.
Were Flywheels "orange" or "natural" 'thane like early wheels from the '70s? (Cadillacs and Continentals.)
The only original Flywheels I ever saw were Bill Tway's and as best I recall they were that "pure" urethane amber color. (In other words, the plastic wasn't dyed one way or the other.)

if you see a shot of the whole wheel, they're side-set...if i recall correctly, they were made from rollerskate wheel molds. the most direct comparison i could draw to today's wheels would probably be a speedvent, only smaller
