Most of you know George Pappas. He had two 1st place finishes in the last couple of weeks, in Morro Bay (hybrid) and in Hood River (TS).
George needs to get to Sweden to represent the U.S. and take his stab at the World Championship title. He is right now one of the top four or five racers on the planet, he has his passport, but doesn't have the dough to get there.

This is where we can help. If everyone in the US slalom scene pitched in a few bucks, George can buy the ticket and get his skinny little ass over to Scandahovia to kick some butt.
Click the donate button to make a donation of any amount. We've done this a couple of times. I'll throw down the first $100. We helped get Mitchell to Antibes that year, and Jack Smith to Paris another time. The ticket is about $1500 right now. Help a bro out and send him to Sweden.
if i was not so unbelievably broke i would totally donate to the cause. Couldnt even send myself to hood river. But, I hope george makes it and kicks some butt!! go papas!
George call me yesterday and told me that he is coming to Sweden, so I'm driving down to meet him! Haven't seen George in 15 years when we used to snowboard together in Europe. I'm so stoked that George is doing well.
It was a pleasure to finally meet George, I first heard of him when I saw his signature model snowboard by Mistral in the 80's.
He did you guys proud in Sweden and won many friends. It looks as though his Eurotrip is continuing to the Czech race then on to the Euro Champs in Amsterdam. Top American Slalom Racer Takes Gecko on Tour - Gecko Decks Skateboarding News

George is a great ambassador to the sport. He made friends with everyone there and even helped out some of the juniors with wheels, setup and advice. Great that he is going on in Europe.
Good to meet you also again Martin!
BTW, what happened on the TS? Was it moved indoors? I had to leave before the race.
It was cool to meet up again after all these years! The PRO FINAL TOOK PLACE ON THE HILL AND WAS CRAZY TECH AND FAST! Huge crowds and great atmosphere...I was very happy with 16th place in that company and finished ahead of some very big names, including last years winner.
A brilliant event all in all, and I'm glad George is getting to do some more Euro races too!
Thank you all who helped sending George to Europe! We've had such a great time during the last 2.5 weeks travelling from Sweden to Czech Republic, Germany and Amsterdam, Racing, Partying, Practicing...lag festing...enjoying pretzels without mustard, going to Amusement parks and so on....Thanks for making this possible.
