So who has tried Sk8Kings' new "Skandal" rear truck for GS? Looks intriguing. How is it traction-wise on fast GS runs? I'm tempted to slap one on the back of my GS rig as I hate swapping trucks and still need to do that right now. I had a good look at Jordan Huotari's Skandal at Hood River and he won the GS on it.... But that kid is such a great natural skater that I think he would have done well on anything.
The Traction on these are amazing , Yandall put one on at Pumpstation GS and instantly improved his GS agression! Louis from the UK and Jordan have some proof of performance! For the price these things are killer! The 30degree baseplate we put on these makes for an great economical solution !

Yes indeed I did. The learning curve was somewhat baptism by fire but then, Richie sniffs out all products that make him world champ and that helps with the confidence factor in trying a new cranking twist of turns. I don't know one product Richie hasn't turned me on to that hasn't helped me move faster! The fact of being over 50 and still blazing is a thrill most AARP'ers need to experience! And if you're gonna go fast, might as well do it with a truck that allows you to transition through the turns without losing precious nano seconds.
What really made the difference was the feeling of less resistance between turns at higher speeds. Initiating turns and feeling the power of setting up for the next turn gave me a boost, in which I need more experience in managing. yikes!
Nobody will beat me in the over 60 groups on these!

Be careful if you want to run narrow spacing on the 35 or 42 degree baseplate. I got truckbite on a "home-made" Skandal that I cut down myself using BigZigs....
See my long-winded rantings on Randal 125's and the one I cut down here:
Instead of talking about "offset" how about talk about the amount of axle rake, or the distance from the axle to the pivot axis. The Randal has less rake stock than a Tracker, so it is relatively "offset". If you want it offset farther just flip the hangar and then it has negative rake, with the axle on the other side of the pivot axis.
Offsetting it like you are talking about would give it more rake and in theory more turning. If you look at a GOG front or a truck like that they are 'reverse kingpin' but have the axle moved in the direction you are suggesting relative to a Randal.

Offsetting is only for rear trucks. Of course, someone can offset whatever they want, but an offset front truck accomplishes little.

OK, let me re-phrase that my original post...
Be careful using a cut down "125" spaced to around 106mm WITH SOFT BUSHINGS and a 42 or 35 degree plate, and 75mm or larger offset wheels. If you're running hard enough bushings, you won't get truck bite. If you're running soft bushings, watch out!
The Skandal is a reverse pivot truck BUT it is NOT offset.
Would this modified truck perform better at GS if it was "chindy-ed" with some yokes to offset the axle?
Of course, this would be a first: offset yokes to move the axles BACK to line up with the kingpin.
Offsetting is usually done on standard trucks to bring the axle in line with the turning axis of the truck. This in turn makes the board more stable as the roll axis of (that end of) the board now goes aproximately through the rear axle.
The axle's position relative to the kingpin is totally irrelevant.
On the Randal RII hangar the axle is already very close to the pivot axis. No need to offset. In fact to get more stability you can flip the hangar. This is how I have my rear R125 set.
The DH hangar has zero rake, the axle goes right through the pivot axis.
