There is a minor rule change for the 2009 Sizzler and that rule is if you want to run in the DH/Speedtrap you have to race in something CONE related (GS, Hybrid, TS, whatever). So, please don't make the trip to Austin thinking you're going to just be able to enter the speedtrap. Nope, sorry, no can do. You're going to go fast AND turn.

What? You don't like to turn?

Don't worry, there will be plenty of boards for you to sample and ride if you don't have a turny set-up of your own.

This is supposed to encourage you and other riders to expand your horizons, not discourage.

No, I definitely like turning. Tech courses are far more fun than straight bombs for DH.

Slalom, however, just isn't my cup of tea...

Is it the spandex? You don't have to wear it, I promise.

It's all skateboarding and it will make you a better downhiller.

All is welcome at the 2009 Sizzler. We will be shooting for MAIN Status. And if that does not work out, which I truly believe we deserve it. Long Live the ISSA. It will be 2 days of racing, March 28 th and 29 th. Austin Texas. We will run the GS on Saturday on Oasis bluff same as last year. I am asking for my time on the that hill. 12 hours. 8am to 8pm. Please remember this hill cost up to 1200-1400 dollars for the day. And that does not include the rent a cop and porta pottys as well. Second day will be at the ghetto hill # 2 Also know as Sheldon Cove. We would run Hybrid and TS on the same day. Now as for the Speedtrap. I have a feeling we are going to be bombarded, FLOODED, INUDATED -to flood; cover or overspread by alot of DH mainly from Texas. Big Ryan and I were freaked out when we saw so my Texas Brothers out for the Speedtrap this year. Of course the slalom riders prize money will be a bit more since they are shelling out the Big Bucks. Texas Down Hillers are too numerous to count, thesa bros are very fast. Where did you bros come from? I will not be racing for the first time since the OG Sizzler in 2004. Keith ( the machine ) Hollien won that one. My injuries from last years race have taken their toll on me. I started competing on the GrassRoots tour back in 2003. I never once have fallen at a slalom competition. FXCKIN SHXTTY LUCK. But I love both sports slalom and DH. ALL IS WELCOME. SLALOM AND DH ARE ALIVE IN TEXAS. I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world.. without you. A world without rules or controls, without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible.

Here is a challenge. Do the DH guys have the Huevos?? Entry for the DH alone will be 70$ this year due to increased cost. Sooo, here is the deal, in order to spread the stoke, if you show up to race DH and also race in the GS slalom we will knock off $20 of you entry fee. This is DH guys only. A little incentive to spread the stoke of slalom.

Receiving alot of emails about the price of the Speedtrap for next years race. Last year alot of the racers wanted a good chunk of change for that event. In order to receive you have to give. And that does not mean that if 70 racers show up and pay. 4,900 $ is not split between 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Remember dudes we have the hill, insurance, food and the price of the rent a cop to pay for. Yes we want to up the anty and still give away descent prize money. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws

Hey would anybody in New England, or on the way to Texas be interested in road tripping this? If gas prices stay low up until the end of march, driving would be cheaper. Plus the airport sucks.

I'm pretty laid back, and the only thing I require is that you don't smell like shitt on the way down. On the way back, its all good.

    Desirable qualities:
*Experience in hiding your road sodas. Can work with the unexperienced and give a crash course in how to hide a beer when we get pulled over.
*Drivers license. I don't wanna drive the whole time, but don't mind giving a quick verbal driving lesson to the unlicensed skater (left pedal is break, right is gas, boom, good to go). So you can at least drive some of those mad boring stretches.
*No more than one, or maybe two quickies at truck stops with the lot lizards. If you don't know what this is, even better.
*No shitting out the window, unless you have to go really bad and say please. This is a legitimate concern brought up from previous road trips.
*No babies. Not that I have anything against little kids, but bringin babies will mean more stops so you can clean your two year olds olds grundle when he inevitably shits his pants, and more stops means more opportunities for a statie to glance into my car and see the pile of beers that will undoubtedly build up.
*Girls. Bring as many as you can, I have a large trunk.
    Have another beer mike.

I think this is a good idea But I think that it as as equally good if the slalom guys try the trap too.

Can we say Marble Falls here we come. Spoke with the City of Austin about Sheldon Cove. They are insane. 2000$ security which will be returned to us if no one vandalizes or breaks the street. 1500$ for the city engineers to come up with a traffic plan. I explained it is a couldesac that is empty. No go. 300$ for the permit. Robert Moss from Marble Falls loves us and the price there is 0$. GS to be held on Oasis Bluff same as last year. Word up! I'll see if I've got the balls, although I would prefer to race TS cause I've done that a couple times with Pete, Chrys, and Borto and it was real fun. Hope to try a little but of everything there!
