Question beginner slalom

wondering how to get myself into the loop. i want to be in any beginner event i can but im really far away from the action until the race comes back to town next year. should i just keep practicing or should i look for actual races to go to. and yes i am aware its getting close to winter but still.

peace

Check with Brian Beihl, the guy who ran the Old Jug race - I think he said there was local slalom clinic sessions.

And yes, definitely keep practicing!

Even through the winter. The Canadians shovel all day to ride their favorite spots.

Or try to find an indoor spot like a warehouse or school or something

See ya' next year!

There is a New England forum here on silverfish, and tow other websites to help keep you up.

www.ncdsa.com
Slalom!

I believe that between NH, Boston, Springfield, Montreal, and Quebec you will have opportunities before the OGJ next year. Heck, check the "contest calendar" on ncdsa, there is a cross town push race in Montreal in two weeks.

beginner slalom welcomes beginner skateboarders. i can't think of a better way for people "riding" their boards to learn how to ride better by forcing programmed turns.

slalom could be an awesome way for entry level longboarders to learn how to turn. all you need is a gentle hill to begin with and some cones. start with 10 and place them 10 feet apart in a straight line. these can be adjusted shorter or longer depending on the difficulty running the course.

practice practice practice and eventually you'll be riding on top of your game and perhaps with glimmering chance, you may want to race with the big boys and girls.

cheers
