    Default DIY: Wireless timing system

Here's some great instructions for a single lane radio timer. (asra)
Here's a link to making your own tape switches too.

All credit to Bernie and Greg Ambler, and Bugs for maintaining ASRA's site!

I'm so excited you posted this. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

    Edit:
Haha, in all of my excitement I forgot to mention that I've been trying really really really hard to come up with timing system. I'd gotten as far as these tapeswitches but no cheap way to set up a timer. But i will keep you guys updated with my progress

I've got everything assembled to start making the tape switches, so that process will start tomorrow, and then I have to talk with my electronics wholesaler to see about the rest. Best case scenario I have everything up and running in a couple weeks And hopefully my slalom board will be here and I can stop using my mini

Man you just made Good Deal so stoked. I got my slalom board up and running (harder than it sounds!) and now this is the next logical step. Can't wait to start timing!

Alright, the article about tapeswitches says to use gaffers tape? Or gaffa tape? If anyone has any experience with this tape, or building tape switches in this method, could you tell me if duct tape would be a suitable replacement?

    EDIT:
Alright, gaffa tape is what australians call duct tape in america. Duct tape in australia is something completely different and more similar to american electrical tape.

gaffers tape is a cloth backed tape with a pressure sensitive adhesive. Used a lot in the film/photography industries. Duct tape...in america...is more a plastic backed tape for sealing air conditioning ductwork.
