Just got my Blue Movie Hoodwalker in the mail today! It arrived via USPS and then Canada post. Couldn't wait to get this deck home and grip it up.

But this deck was not meant just to be looked at. What amazed me about this deck is that it carves like a knife. I quickly installed the Randal RII 180s and Seismic Hotspots (69mm), sweat dripping from my brow in anticipation. Now to the streets!

I decided to put the Hoodwalker through its paces by taking it on a nice mellow run through my neighborhood. Starting in a highly gentrified university campus area known as The Annex, progressing into densely populated local inner city markets and litter strewn Chinatown sidewalks, ending at Toronto Union Station. The stiff flex and front-centric camber make this deck pump! The sweet concave locked my front foot in place perfectly. Pedestrian slalom on a 52 inch skateboard feels like floating through a world in slow motion. I never expected to be able weave and turn so nimbly on a deck this long. Everyone does a double take as you pass by, I even heard a young girl gasp in shock "It's huge!", But I digress...



I've ridden a few large boards before, but usually I've noticed people really crank down the trucks which is a pity. I have never owned one myself, so the setup is preliminary for now, but I will be keeping the setup nice and loose for long flowing lines.... I will be replacing the wheels with new Orangatangs, and I will be installing 1/4" risers, but even with the shock pads only, I was getting minimal wheel bite at full lean. I've been considering trying some Indy 215s.

Board walking and nose manuals were simplicity itself. I'm contemplating the fact that there is enough room on here for me to do a double cross step. I busted a few nose pivots towards the end of my ride, but I will need to get used to the weight of the deck before I start really whipping it around. The extra leverage that the long nose and tail afford should make shove its a breeze.

Chris, glad you are having fun on the hoodie... for me it's a blast to see boards go out to other countries... In other hoodie news the new mold is done and a test board goes in today & we may have new hoodwalker pics in a week or so.
