To clarify & repeat info in post #847…
Formica comes in “what you see is what you get” for now… since so many people want to know why.. it's expensive, hard to get and tricky as hell to bend like that. Some types can’t make the bends… so, until I can stabilize a supply of colors & types that work…
What you see is it. We will get a regular set of colors in the future just not yet.
Again ordering questions are going to have to wait a few days… Please bear with me till mon or tues…
The “first run” means we will be making minute refinements, new graphics & a new name starting in Sept… but, till then we are pressing every day.

V-lam Toecutter is gone

Thermoforming Formica involves heating the material until it's pliable, bending it to a desired shape....a snowboard heat press(OVER 10 TON) with a little over 245 DEGREES will allow you to do some crazy stuff....foam, carbon composites and wild formica....or some ABS, Lexan etc.

Think snowboards and wakeboard construction....skip the maple.lol

I like maple... and making affordable boards is important. That much heat breaks down the cell structure of the wood... cold pressing in a precisely radiused mold...(35 TONS Hydraulic) that's the way to build a drop. pure composites? well that depends... Carbon doesn't like more than 25 lb's psi as it starts to run dry (leading to weaker shear bond & early delam...unless you are using certain prepregs... 10 tons on carbon will kill longevity over the area of an average skateboard unlike glass that can sustain more pressure without running dry)... let's say you were to build a foam and carbon drop ideally you would press & heatform the foam then autoclave the prepreg carbon wrap or' have it spun & mandrilled then autoclaved... but, once again, I just dabble in composites and maple pressing for toys, what do I know... but.. in general for talking shop, let's take it over to the LB building forum...
