N. Ga... Mountains....ATL & everyone else

I was just wonder'n if their are any people who skate or know of any good runs? I have family in cleveland/helen Ga. I go there once or twice a year and thought next time I go...it would be nice to hook up w/some fellow D.H.'ers.I know of some fast runs in the area,but wouldn't mind travel'n to some other towns/spots.I would think the ATL crew would have the Ga.mountains mapped out w/endlees Gnarl???

Hey man. I am REAL interested! I live in North East Florida. I have Family and Friends up there too. I grew up in Gainesville GA. I know all about White County and Hall County.

The people that I know and ride with have just gotten to the point where we want to head up to the mountains for something a little more serious. So we're actually just in the process of mapping out some places to ride. I guess we'll keep you posted if we find stuff.

Yo dude, I grew up in that area. I know all kinds of hills up there.

In Cleveland, there are a few good hills, but i'd focus more in the Dahlonega area. Helen has a few good hills too. Fallow 129 further north of Cleveland too.

I know of some real good spots around cleveland/helen.If you go N it's all mountains and the NC border.If you go E towards dahlonega,you run into more mountains and eljay.All the sportbike riders meet at a shop up top of 400 and go rip'n through the mountains.I have a frtend who met up w/some luge guys up there somewhere?He said it was Epic.When he get's back in town,I'll ask him if he knows where it was.

I know all about that store. By any chance did you go to the Jams Haus in Helen back when it was open?

There is gnar from Dalton eastward to the Dahlonega area. Chattanooga, TN has gnar by the truckload. I remember reading about some luge race in Tiger, GA a while back. Western NC looks amazing, as well. The next few months will yield some better perspective on what's up in N.GA.

Yeah. Rabuns Gap is a killer place too. It's right there on the boarder. Talking about some drop offs.

I live 15 minutes from Helen, GA. There are awesome hills to hit all over the place up here. Some of the runs on Blood mountain are great. There's loads of places to practice with no traffic ect.

I can't find anyone else so far who longboards up here. Maybe I need to open a longboard store up here.

hey all, Im western SC GA border is about 40 minutes from me. I think there are a couple of good looking DH runs near clayton, pine mountain, and highlands. anyone who wants to hit some one weekend let me know.

if you shoot me some road addresses so i can scope them out me and my friends will surely head up there one weekend. we're headed up north this weekend, actually. not towards helen, but it's the thought that counts.

the lugers were probably up around clayton Ga. that is where they stay when they go ride there. it is actually organized by a luger from sarasota fl. i went two years ago and had a good time. it is usually in march.

I wish I had a job so I'd have gas money. We could plan a sesh up there in the future. I know the Hall county, White county, Lumpkin county pretty good.

mmk, i believe me and mister ALG are headed back up north(and west).

unless, of course, we're convinced to head north and another direction. like north and north. or north and east.

basically what we're "ready" for is 40-45mph roads.

I know of a hill around Clayton... along with a hill just accross the GA,SC border in SC.

NE GA has 60mph hills

Blood mountain if you can catch it with no cars. There's a wicked tight U-shaped turn down hill.

As far as the rest, best bet is to just ride around them. Park at the scenic lookouts. They are all over. Also, if you google "vogel state park," You can't miss good hills if you take a day trip there. Promise. Also, if you head up to the north boarder, you will find mountains that look like no car has been there in weeks. I couldn't tell your for sure where they are at, but once you get on one mountain, you can pretty much find a spot anywhere.
