Florida Race Series

Just seeing if any central fl riders would have any interest in utilizing our flat terrain.... just post ideas and such. Essentially i was thinking of starting up a little outlaw race series, with some dh and push races. The push races would basically allow for more race locations/venues, b/c good dh runs are few and far between in florida. I figured this could be used to bring more florida skaters together and spread the stoke

tell me what you think and if you would be game to help start something soon (early 2010? before it gets blazing hot...)

I'm from the west coast (Clearwater)....
I've heard that Brooksville seems ok for Florida standards!
I'm meeting up with a couple of guys from St Pete later on this week. Will check to see if they have interest in a "local" event.

well i'm from miami and there isn't any hills whatsoever down here. lol. if you find out about something good up there let me know. i;m sure my friends would be down too. holla

central florida is the only place with decent hills besides northern florida. Im always down for a florida outlaw and I travel with a few people from miami that would also want to race. You should talk to flapper about another clermont outlaw. the tallahassee race is this weekend, short notice to add it to a series, but it'll be a good time for sure. Iv also got a few runs that are race worthy just north of stuart. If we do some sort of racing series in florida all these places would have to be included. iv never rode brookesville but from what I hear it doesnt come close to clermont. Many of us have to drive pretty far for good hills so you can understand why we would only want to hit the best florida has to offer (which isnt much). Just some things to consider. cheers

well i know of a decent set of hills in gainesville, and push races could be held on rail trails. clermont has some insane hills (for florida), but i have not had the opportunity to ride them. I was thinking we should start putting together some locations, pick a time for a race series (e.g. feb-march, jan-feb, etc), and maybe start an email list or yahoo group for updates. basically my idea would be to have a small series of 4 to 6 races around florida that would host more than just downhill. a gathering of longboarders to race and ride together.

Come to Gainesville. Hell, there is a nasty hill I never thought existed in FL, right off I-75. It's pretty steep and is pretty long for as steep as it is.

Tons of garages here in Orlando.

Some decent hills in Apopka, but they are pretty short. They are good for tech sliding.

ok well im thinking about trying to get a push race followed by a freeride in the evening happening in gville soon. Just to kinda "get the fire started". PLEASE PM ME IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS TO LEND OR ARE INTERESTED IN HELPING OUT!

I'm totally interested. I'm all the way in Miami, Fl. But I know for a fact I'd be down to participate in any event you guys wanna throw....as well as my bestfriend, who lives in some shithole town Sebring. We'd be more than willing to drive up and join in. I'd just like to be informed of any event beforehand....please message me if you come up with an event idea or need help? COUNT ME IN FOR SURE! i just hope it wont clash with work or anything but i wanna so be there.
