Sarasota/Bradenton or Tampa Florida Skaters?
Just wondering who's out there. I live in Bradenton, skate downtown there and downtown Sarasota.
I go up to Tampa every two weeks or so; I skate there as well.
If you skate around here say hello

Hmm. Sounds pretty much awesome. I've always wanted to try/see streetluging, and would not mind going fast on my board. Where is Clermont?
Actually I'll probably just look it up. I'll shoot you a PM with my number.

I will try to get them to sweep the path right before the event. Figure we can get as many loops as we can/want. followed by a cookout.
Good push/long distance pumping trail through the woods, with one small downhill section. If you wanted to learn how to LDPump should have a few LDP experts on hand to help with set-ups and maybe try out some other boards and will have a Kahuna Big stick to test as well..
Reply or send me a PM if interested.

Not really my kind of skating event, but you can bet your ass I'll be there lol any skating get together is a good get together, and food? Oh yeah, there. And I might just have to bring a little grill or something .
Maybe when it's done some people will want to do a little riot run through downtown Sarasota, hit up Spiral (miramar), Synovus, Superior and such.

Re: Sarasota/Bradenton or Tampa Florida Skaters?
Whoa - stumbled on to this thread from Google of all places. Anyways, I registered so I could post up here.
I recently moved down here from Tallahassee after graduating, so I don't know anyone in the area. I'm in Sarasota off of University Parkway.
I don't own any equipment but I'd like to eventually get a longboard and learn to cruise. I tried to teach myself how to skate on a cheap Wal Mart skateboard. That didn't go so well...

Go to the classifieds section here and buy a nice complete setup, but do some research and search around first. This place is a wealth of information when you cut out the BS flame wars.
If you want to skate sometime let me know, you could come meet us at the garage's and we would let you try our boards. That way you could kind-of get a feel for a few different styles.
Do you go to school?
EDIT: I won't have a board till tuesday when my new one comes in, so we won't be going before then
I love longboarding. Especially slope-style free-riding. Mmm.

Come on out, there should be plenty of longboarders there and sure you would be able to give a few different kinds of boards for a short spin.

Re: Sarasota/Bradenton or Tampa Florida Skaters?
Thanks for managing the logistics Eddie.
It was cool to meet other boarders from the area. Especially one's who are so generous and trusting with their gear. So, thanks to everyone.
Count me in for the next one.

Re: Sarasota/Bradenton or Tampa Florida Skaters?
I come up to sarasota every now and then with my best friend , we are 15 , planning to go to downtown sarasota sometime this summer with the scat bus and skate the parking garages with our other friend who has a skateboard.
I have a Dervish with Otang 83'a inheats and Randal R-11 (not sure how those hold up to parking garage speeds), and my friend has a Riviera with Paris 150s and some stock wheels he wants to replace badly.
My dream since I stood on a skateboard for the first time (3 years old) has been to go skating for an entire day in a down town environment.
Me and my friends plan to wake up early around 8-9, get dressed, grab backpacks and some spare change and hop on a scat and go skate and film downtown Sarasota until its dark.
Id have to talk to them about meeting up with Silverfish riders, we all hate meeting people through the internet, been there done that, not fun. But I'm sure we could go for a day and meet up with some other people after we get comfortable with the downtown Sarasota environment.
We want to ride the parking garages and possibly find some hills or good spots if anyone knows downtown sarasota well.
Hope to talk to some of you guys later, peace.
