Re: Atlanta Longboarder Registry
Billy, you can bring the board back around when the wheels are rolling backwards but I think it's easier when you're learning to bring it back in earlier to keep the momentum of the swing. Rolling backwards is steezy as heel if you can get it back under you. hopefully, I'll be able to ride on the weekdays when the sun's out so we can hit some hills together.

Sorry man,
something unexpected came up so now I have to go to Dalton but I should be back Saturday. By then the New Year's hangover should be gone.

Stefen, Ryan is trying to put together a sesh out near Chadd's house. I think it starts in Johns Creek somewhere.
You are not the light of my life.
Making you happy isn't my greatest dream.
Your smile is not all I live for;
I've got my own stuff going on.
But you're strange and fascinating
and I've never met anyone like you.
I want to give you everything.
Just to see what you would do with it.

Re: Atlanta Longboarder Registry
Hi there folks, I'm getting back into longboarding after a couple years of very little skating. I live in the east metro area around newton rockdale and walton. Anyone know any parks or trails good for some downhilling in the area? Doesn't have to be anything too hardcore, just a nice ride. Thanks!

Snow = a softer landing when you get speed wobbles

Head over here to Athens, we have plenty of hills and garages around the UGA campus.

Ahhhh. Snow. Yuck.
On a good note, google up "Under Armor Cold Gear Hood"...
It's ninja skate gear! Sweetness. $25

1) Snow sucks. It's wet and it's cold. Plus, you're not wiping out from wobbles, you're wiping out because you can't grip anything and even a gentle carve turns into the longest standup slide you've ever done.
2) I didn't know we had another board builder in Ga. Aldrian's got some pretty nice looking stuff. I'd love to see what you're putting out.

Re: Atlanta Longboarder Registry
Hey Camel (or anyone else)... do you know of a spot that's for total cruising? My friends and I have been looking into finding some long trail or something around the Tucker area in Dekalb county. To be honest, anywhere in Dekalb is a fine spot. Gwinnett would work too.

Re: Atlanta Longboarder Registry
Cruise only huh?
[OTP]Alpharetta - Big Creek Trail (Greenway) 6 miles of flats with small bridges.
[OTP]Marietta - Silver Comet Trail (Rails to Trails project) 100 miles of flats with trestle bridges, tunnels, etc...
[ITP]Inman Park Trails - (Stone Mountain Trail) Starts at Freedom Pkwy and Blvd. Little hilly in spots, but mellow most of the time. Some foot braking required.
[OTP]McDaniel Farm Park - All levels of riding. Flats, steeps, mellow hills. Longboard playground for all.
Hope that helps.
