What's up Barry. We need to go skate. Check your PM's. Me and Tyleroo are going to Shorty Howell at lunch today for a short lunch session. Lots of fun and looks like the weather is going to be good as well.
Yeah, too short. But Tyleroo was running 21 mph on the back trails through the woods. Pretty cool considering how twisty they are. Shoot me some mail - chaddhall@gmail.com. Not sure if you have done Big Creek Trail yet, but its a great 4-6 hour ride to the end and back. Great exercise pumping on the flats. I am thinking about heading out there tomorrow.
hey camel, How is big creek and where is it? I heard there is a ditch near piedmont. I wanna try it tho. I dont have really good setups so nothin too steep for me, I just got over an injury, but I'm good now, let me know whats up
Big creek is as tame as tame gets. All flat, 12 foot wide concrete path that runs for 6 miles through the floodplains of Big Creek in Alpharetta. Some bridges and a single road crossing, so you can get up a little dh speed if you want. But mostly pumping and cruising. Lots of fun when you go with a friend. I want to go this weekend, but my skate buddies are all busy. You are way out in Calhoun, so I would plan on a full day trip. It would take you an hour to get there, skate for 4-6 hours, then an hour home.
If I knew anything near Kennesaw, I would be happy to share. Best I can tell you. Use maps.live.com to "bird's eye" all of your local county and city parks for multi-use trails. I have a ton in Gwinnett and most are great places to longboard. Gwinnett has no regulations against skateboards in the park. Just "no idiot" rules.
Dude that looks like fun, If I lived closer and didnt have to work all weekend I would be down for that, for some reason I cant pump, theres no ther longboarders in calhoun so theres no one to actually watch and learn from. I'm in marietta at the moment but live in calhoun. I'll be moving to the cobb area soon tho

You sure you can't go tomorrow? Time to call in sick with the awesome weather expected tomorrow. I want someone to skate with, but if I can't find anyone I will probably go it alone. I need the exercise after the 4 pieces of pizza I just ate.
Heck, I even have an extra setup right now. Tyleroo loaned me his Flex 4 Vanguard for a buddy. Just got done upgrading the kingpins on his R2 180's to grade 8 with flat washers. Trucks actually work the way they are supposed to now. (There's your rental fee Tyleroo! 5 bucks worth of grade 8 steel.)
Seriously, if anyone wants to go tomorrow, let me know...

- and Sleutho, i minght be conned into picking you up at Northridge Marta station if you are a smooth talker. Hehe....
I'm from the UK, but am over in Atlanta for work for 4 weeks from this coming weekend. See you guys have a few meet ups, so i'm thinking about secretly packing a board in my luggage with me, and coming out for a skate!
Have a few board options, so what do you guys mainly do? Carving? DH? Sliding? I think i'll probably bring my old sliding board (Lush Park 3, but then with soft and hard wheels so i can get involved with whatever goes down.
I'll be based very centrally i imagine, and so should be up for meeting up - will have to wait and see what else gets planned for the weekends i'm out there. Any good central spots? I'm meeting a mate at Georgia Tech at some point so will be over that way. The Campus got any good spots? (they normally tend to have super smooth roads!?)
Lots of questions i know, but would appriciate any advise available! Cheers guys,

Bring something versatile. Or pick up a new board while you are here, perfect excuse. I'd be happy to ship it back for you.
I do mostly carving, cruising, and LDP. I am trying to learn sliding as best I can, but it's coming slow.
Where will you be working? I am sure we can get some folks together. Or at least do the Grant Park thing with the Woody's Boardshop crew on a Friday night.

Hey, I'm kinda the GT representative on the fish. campus has a few pretty good hills, but nothing to fast. there are also a few pretty good parking garages on campus. PM me when you get into atlanta and I'll show you the better spots on campus and you can come and ride with us. we mostly do parking garages and the few good hills on campus and a little bit of sliding.
Not sure where i'll be staying yet, but will be in touch when i get over there and figure out when i'll be free, and where abouts i'll be!
sounds good, just let me know when you get here. I'm kinda confused when you are coming though. Are you coming this weekend for 4 weeks or are you coming 4 weeks from this weekend?
For those guys that aren't on the Google Group yet:
So the weather is going to be awesome this coming Sunday. Friday looks like rain, so Woody's meet at Grant Park may get rained out again (Hopefully the guys from Woody's will hear about this and spread the word, please...). So here's the deal, Big Creek Trail for Sunday. I know some of you are a long way away from this place, so we will start early, but not too early. How about 11:00 am at the trail head. The parking is at the Alpharetta YMCA.
So come out and play, tell your friends. Push, pump, cruise, have a great day.
The whole 12 miles there and back should be a 4-6 hours. Bring something to eat, drink, and sustain yourself with...
Extra parts, extra decks, etc are a good idea in case of breakage.
I will have the new Cambiar deck by GBomb longboards. I am testing and writing a review on the system for GBomb. Something you just have to see to understand fully.

ha ha, sorry!
Arriving on weekend of 8th/9th March (as in this coming one). Leave around 4th April. Hopefully will be able to meet up some point, but it will probably not be till weekend of 14th/15th. Playing it all by ear at the moment, as not sure how much work i'll have on, or if anything else is arranged for me during my stay. Will be in touch when i know what my other commitments are with work!
