Is it laid back enough to bring a street deck to hit that with? As in the authorities.
I am thinking that it is probably a no for street skating. The family element is too prevalent on the trail. It would probably end up getting all skateboarding banned from the trail. That, I don't want to see happen because its such an awesome free ride all the way down.
Truthfully, that little spot is not that great because it is narrow as all get out and your board might fly off under the rail into the swift moving creek right there.
I think that the authorities would be a little more apt not to hassle long distance skaters that are being respectful of city property.
Sorry to be a buzz kill.

Playing it all by ear at the moment, as not sure how much work i'll have on, or if anything else is arranged for me during my stay. Will be in touch when i know what my other commitments are with work!
oh, that could be a problem-ish. I'm going to be out of town this weekend and then my spring break is the 14-23, so I'll be gone during that time too. after that it should be fine. can you skate suring the week at all? I'm sure we'll go a few times next week, especially since these two kids who already graduated who are pretty good are coming down next week. we normally go at night because there is less traffic. just let me know when you can come out. Im not sure if my friends will be around over spring break, but if they are, I will try to set something up.

Re: Atlanta Longboarder Registry
I'm about three hours outside of Atlanta, but perhaps I can make it down there sometime and we can plan a big session or something. Hopefully I can start organizing some big session like they do out west for the East Coast.

I'll be welding on my buds truck most of Sunday. We're re-doing a body drop,so it may take a while.

I have heard the Silver Comet would be great. Do what I did, just go ride it and report back. I took a chance on the Big Creek thing and had hours of fun. Silver Comet is way far away for me, so I would probably want to camp out there or something...

I think there are some people around here, because I've seen something about DH at Tiger mountain and a freeride at the Blue ridge parkway, so you might want to check those out. I'm not sure what Kenesaw is like, but there probably aren't any real DH runs there, just smaller rolling hills, maybe some steep ones. You'd probably have to head north into the mountains to find good DH roads.
