Some of the stuff around Kennesaw Mountain might be worth looking into. But dude, your 15 if your age is right. Are you looking for someone to drive you around to go DH'ing? Not going to happen man, pretty sure that most older folks would be a little worried about carrying around someone else's kid. Blueridge Parkway (hwy 60) would be some fun times for you. None of the guys I skate with are serious DH'ers. Look north, Kennesaw is where GA just starts to grow some mountains.

All of the mountains around here are like that. Look up those two that I told you about. Banked corners, hairpins, 55 mph speed limits that even a car couldn't keep up with.
My bud used to drift suches in his 240 All the damn time When we stayed in Dahlonega nearly every night. I use to carve it in my old Z32 behind him,Tons of Dumb adolescent fun, hah. That road is seriously nuts.
Anyone know of any nice rather long mellow hills around? I'm looking for some long mellow rides to do a little mental clarity, and test out a little 60's Board i'm building.
Got my Pedestrian killer set up as a LDP right now. Took odd the Original Mid tracks and put on some shitty super narrow target truck i modified the living hell out of. It's 27" of Pumping machine. As soon as i could handle pumping For more than 10-15mins I might start doing Big creek.

Hey man stamina is the key. You don't have to have small trucks to pump though. I do it on 180's. But maybe that is why my calves look like baked hams.
yea I can actually pump my Junk speedboard somewhat now too, granted those trucks are scary narrow too. I originally learned how to do it on the OG trackers, but I only have a set number of bushings and whatnot to play around with(flat broke) and just can't get them dialed in. I had this crazy set up using a gigantic bottom bushing from a super old freebord truck, and two shitty old completely different top bushings turned hourglass. Actually worked really well. The small trucks just give me the leverage i need on the junk i skate.
Anywho. The Miss's and I are noticing we may not really look that out of shape,we both are sacks of #### for stamina, and endurance. I've been hacking up some beach cruisers into something crazy for us/her to ride around on, and we get super sore after just 20-30min cruising on flat ground. So, as soon as My schedule is better, and more importantly when I recover from this nasty cold, and blinding sinus headaches. I'll be pumping around for some much needed cardio. My local park doesn't really cater to it well,so I'm thinking Big creek is the best bet since it's largely flat, wide, and smooth.
Set plans are basically impossible for us right now,so if you just happen to see a weirdo on a metalflake Pointy board and a hotty on a beach cruiser, thats us,hah.
That's funny man. There are obvious side benefits to building up stamina. Send an email to the Atlanta list if you go out. I am out there at least one day on most weekends. I did 9 miles last weekend. Lots of fun when you see the looks you get from most of the 50 yr old cycle-istas. Like you aren't supposed to be there on their trail. I talked to Mike Perry that runs Alpharetta parks department and he said that we are well within an acceptable use. Just be nice to the pedestrians. And watch out for the cycle-istas.
Those obvious benefits are the very way we came to this realization, hah
Ya know it's Funny. Our park here. Been skating it regularly for a couple years. Despite the looks i was so,so nice and curtiious to every single person. Which is incredibly hard for me,hah. The people that worked at the park we met loved us, i was always out with some crazy 4 wheeled homemade contraption( I got into a crazy weird phrase making boards), everything was grand. There's a police precinct in the park. It was crazy,But it worked. Somewhere alone the line recently, the friendly waves, and small talk from the Old walkers/riders and whatnot( surely the same people you deal with), faded and now we get cold nasty scowls, and we've been threatened by the one or two park workers we haven't met. We are only allowed to skate on the parking lot and road now,not the walkway/trail. What stupid logic that is i don't even know. We try to be a good promoter of diversity and skateboarding, and now we have no where to skate again. It's sad too, because we aren't born again skaters(well we are born again skaters, but you get me,agewise) like you guys with an image of a " upstanding tax paying citizens" That the public sees. . Were 20 somethings that are trying to make a good name for what we do.
Sorry, I'm rambling. Haven't slept and all these meds/head pain are makin' me nutty
Yeah, the best thing I can say to folks when they give me a dirty look or say something nasty is "Hey, I am a tax paying citizen. You need to afford me the respect I deserve. I helped pay for this park."
Gwinnett is much more accepting. Shorty Howell is a PD hangout. There are typically 3-5 cruisers in there at lunch on any given day. PD and the park workers always wave when they see me going around the track. They know I am there to get fit, not to "skate and destroy".
And having friends on the PD doesn't hurt either. Cops are great guys when you know them outside the job.
I can't imagine any downhiller not going nuts over those roads. They are quite insane. The Blueridge Pkwy (hwy 60) would be great as well. Just make sure it is a weekday and you won't have to deal with the motorcycles.
Oh yea... Were hitting p'ville and Nazdar today. Were the two dudes going balls fast lines and frontside grinds.
We have no gas,no money, my bud was drunk as #### last night and my back is so jacked i shouldn't skate,so were not up for much else, but We'll probably be on the trails too.
