Hey guys, I wanted to get a thread going so we can start some meets, park rides, share info on spots. It seems we have had a lot of ATL threads going lately and are slowly discovering the scene in and around town. Sound off where you live and what kind of skating you like to do. Share a spot, whatever... Perhaps we can get a sticky on the southeast forum, we are a big enough town and all the highways end up here (they used to call the place Terminus back in the stone ages because all roads/trains led here to ATL).

Location in Atlanta: Sugar Hill (North Gwinnett)
Decks: Dervish/Paris/BigZigs or Gumballs
Disciplines: Carving, Flats, Flat Track Pumping, Cruising, Hard Carving and Drifting, Trying to not look like an idiot learning how to slide, lightweight DH.
Favorite Spots: Shorty Howell, Peachtree Ridge, Twin Creeks Subdivision, Sweetwater Park, Big Creek Greenway, and any large empty freshly paved parking lot with a slope.

Disciplines: warp speed Park charging...Downhill...whatever i'm feeling...but at mach 2.
Favorite Spots: Basement O' Deth (our secret spot), Central park( after nearly 2 years were getting complaints,be careful cop station in park) Pville/pville trails,nasdar. Whatever we come across.

How is Midtown for cruising around? I have been to Piedmont Park, but not the urban area yet.

Downhill, do you go to Tech or just live near there? There are a few of kids who ride here, and a couple are pretty decent.

Yeah, I ride around a bit, mostly to class and a lot at night. If you have a facebook, search for longboarding at GT i think. I just met a couple of the guys on there, and will probably ride with them more. Where are you living/riding? I live in Smith on North Ave.

Live in Homepark. Ride around here a bit and also cruise in midtown. Pretty new to it so nothing to crazy.

Yesterday I rode 6.7 miles around and through Piedmont Park.

It was really fun and it was a beautiful day aside from the 20 knot winds. There is a 400 yard downhill from the Botanical Gardens around a sports field where I got up to 18 MPH (i have a GPS wristwatch - yes I am a dork) that is very fun.

It gets pretty crowded, but dodging the people in the park added another layer of fun to it.

I saw some kids with S9's and street boards, but no other longboarders.

After I bombed the big grassy hill on my Vanguard there was a group of kids attempting to do the same thing with different levels of success.
