Mister Surly is on the right road.
Default Florida Old School

If you remember Cambodia Ramp, St. Pete Jam, Bro Bowl, Naples,
Wastelands, street contests in parking lots, all in 90 percent humidity .....
Check out these 80's shots sent in by Skip Marcotte over at
Old School Skateboarding ... here

If any of you have pics from the late 70's, and 80's Florida skate scene,
let me know, I'd love to see them, and have I web space to put them up.
Or send them to the Old School site. I managed to lose all of my pictures
and everything else I owned in a house fire a few years ago, so it was
nice to see these few shots. We had one h3ll of a scene down there early
on, and then it seemed like everyone split, either to the West Coast or up
to New York.

And if anyone knows how to get in touch with Monty Nolder, please PM me.

Carl....Monty is active again, and skating fairly regularly at the new Dunedin Sk8park.

Most of the old Florida history stuff is being held onto by the skaters/photographers here.
Check out.....Floridaskater.com.
Lots of good stuff.
Safari forever.

The Floridaskater site is amazing. I have copied/backed up nearly everything on there in the last year or so. If you see Monty, tell him someone would like to set up a quick interview. I'll be down next month, so maybe I'll road trip over there and seek him out.

How did I leave Safari off of that list? Safari Forever

Thanks for the recent PM ... by the way, I did break my arm at the race. Waited
a week, and now I'm braced up for a month.

Truly sorry to hear about the injury.
The Gainesville outlaw is this weekend, as you know.
And then things get back to normal, with good sk8parks, and some Clermont action, and possibly garages.

Just picked up a deal on a Rogers proto aluminum TOPmount speedboard, so I'm excited to build it up.
Dave tells me, that thing is perfect for "the Bear" ditch, as well.

We have a thread: ( NW Central FL )
Keep in touch!
