good school for skating a mini everything is in a 3-5 block area...I spent a year at CofC 20 years ago, my brother graduated from there in 95. I'm going to date myself I'm sure but the old community pool was the skatespot when my brother and I were there...I think it's a parking lot now. There is a pay park in North Charleston...looks OK, there was a key bowl but I think that's gone now. I think one of the Down Hill Billies lives in Charleston of the area

I live in Summerville 20 miles from Charleston. Things downtown are "weird" at best. It seems the new police chief (Mullins) has decided having fun is somehow bad for the city. Although I don't think anyone's been arrested or ticketed, the patrol cops are now telling skaters, "hey, pick that up and walk."

The Aquarium garage is decent but with some nasty expansion joints. Bad thing is the "dead time" in there is very, very late and it starts up very, very early. All the parking garages in the city, though, are either municipal or state-owned (at the Medical University.) Again, the bust factor is hit or miss.

Gecko, the George Street Pool has been gone for years. It's now covered with apartments.

One spot that is still cool is the Bus Depot. I was downtown a couple of weeks ago and the kickflippers were there in force. I didn't skate but have set cones there many, many times.

As far as the North Charleston park, are you referring to the wood park next to the Ice Palace? That's the only one I know of for certain. Has another opened?

And one last thing: don't forget about the Hangar Bowl on John's Island. I was at the Inland Skate Shop this weekend and the word is Hank missed all the tornadoes that went through last month and the bowl is still ripping.

yeah as I said "dating myself"...that was where I first met Blaise Blouin (RIP) I loved skating those walls and grinding the gutters...
I'm not real certain about where the park is I went with some friends of my brother a year or two ago, we were only spending the night on the way back from visiting my grandfather's grave in Beaufort
