well like the choose your own way sounds cool but there is the possiblity of someone gettin lost or if someone crashes and gets hurt givin that they were not by themselves or in the back there will be someone else behind or with them to help out, and it just makes sure we all end up at the same spot
what time on sunday cuz i might not be able to make it, i have a race that day

The G-Ride(s): wheels change but everythin stays the same
Landy Evo(dh)-R-II 180s reds
s9 bh (freeride/dh)- R-ll 180s reds
s9 stripped(slide/rain)-indy 169s reds
custom "old school" blank deck (cruise/slalom)- thunder trucks
We could just have peeps have their friends ride with them, so if one gets hurt the others call for help. And does Sunday the 7th of June sound good for the ride?
The "choose your own path" idea sounds cool, but there are too many problems with it. People can cheat easily, and if someone could get lost or hurt.
You want a race, but some people may "just want to cruise"? Then why have a race? A race is a race, and a cruise is a cruise.
I say we have a set course. It can be whatever you want. If the hills and stuff I posted seem a little to fast for some people I can understand that. So why not have more of a pusher, less of a DH. We could do something like what ADA did at UNM, but longer.
Hey, do anyone else notice that they ride whatever they are near? I just moved from viginia and there I did dancing and carving but now sine I moved to ABQ I do ally more DH and ditch riding!
(Wow that took way to long to type on my iTouch!!!
I think that is a great idea!!! Since I just started longboarding, and don't know many good places... Can someone come up with a course, not to hard, and NO SPEEDS ABOVE 10 M.P.H I can't handle that speed, cause, well, I just started! So send me a detailed turn by turn directions or mapquest, etc. to my e-mail account so I can review it. And also a good date to do the race. Any other sugestions for it would also be appreciated!!!
My e-mail account is wood.bryan25@yahoo.com
And please don't give that e-mail to anyone else or spam me
P.S.--- Since I have never organized a event before, if anyone wants to help me, just let me know!
Well, you know what I mean!!! I don't want to make this a DH race, I just wanna have some fun! I have no idea how fast I am going most of the time, so just no insanely high speeds!!! I mean, if you had been longboarding for only 5 months, how fast would you be able to go without freaking out?!? Still, anyone have any suggestions for the course/dates and times?
Once again... My e-mail is wood.bryan25@yahoo.com please don't Spam or give away to companies!!!!

i get what your saying but i had only been skatin for a month and i did the first 2 outlaw races here, and that was like 25 and up. im not sayin i didnt freak out, like i straight up crashed into a tree durin the 2nd race (im to lazy to find the video right now lol)......but what im tryin to say is yea its good to take things slow but sometimes you just gotta go all out and do it.
hope i didnt sound to much like a dick

Not really, I know what you mean! But to me going to fast just takes the fun out of the hill, cause your not thinking about riding, your thinking about, "WHY ISN'T THIS HILL ENDING!!! OMG I'M GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Alright lets try this one more time. I think we should have everyone skate thru out abq. We can have the distance race that day too. Im trying to say if there's like a national go skate day why not a public (abq) go longboard day.

Dude, I think we should over run abq like ever longboarder from downtown to Ne hieghts ever longboarder just go's out and skates. There can be distance races and just fun sessions just as long as your longboarding and having fun. I think we should make flyers for this and give them to local skate shops.

What the??? What are you trying to say here!!! YOU CONFUSE ME TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We held a choose your own path race last year in Austin with ALC. It worked out well and the possible reason being is that we had checkpoints. Every rider had to collect 3 poker chips, 1 from each checkpoint in the 10 mile race. You can choose your own path from checkpoint to checkpoint. We had no maps or anything. We were told the path just before we started racing. we were given necklaces like backstage passes that had the intersections that we needed to show up at printed on them. We had to find the spot and look for the team handing out the chips. while this does require more volunteers to help the race by handing chips out, it makes it near impossible to cheat on the race as someone will always be near you since you have to converge every few miles. This also allows for pictures of the race happening from several different spots. These races that stretch out for miles make it hard to photograph or video. The checkpoints allow a photographer to set up at one point and get pictures of all competitors and then if time drive to a second point to set up. Once all 3 poker chips were collected the riders then made the final run to the finish line. if you did not show up with all the chips it did not count.
