Re: Albuquerque Distance Race
That is a really good idea. But like you said, we need tonds of people willing to show up, and not skate.

Re: Albuquerque Distance Race
Maybe it could be like a scavenger hunt, with the checkpoints and all. But instead of people handing out chips, we could have to take a picture of something near the checkpoint, and if the picture the person took was nothing near that checkpoint, they can't win! Still, did Barstow to Eubank the other day, so it should be all flat or downhill...
It could start and Eubank and go all the way to a mall or something...
Still, if anyone has a good idea for start and end points, checkpoints, etc. just e-mail me at wood.bryan25@yahoo.com

Re: Albuquerque Distance Race
I like the chips better. Not everyone has a camera, and if you fall... that could be bad.
We could set the objects out before the race, and you just pick them up along the way.

Re: Albuquerque Distance Race
Simms park , 3 mile ditch , or indian school

Re: Albuquerque Distance Race
Indian school to Pennsylvania to Claremont to Montlcaire to Shepard to Morningside to Comanche to Griegos to Rio Grande to Flying Star?
Kinda made that up just now. Someone might want to drive it to check for skate-ability. Should be skate-able though.
Also--I'll judge, but I'm not down for the whole race...

Push race. Unless you want to do laps up and down these hills...
Will- That sounds pretty fun. You mean Indian School Ditch? And we could finish with lunch at Flying Star.

Exactly.
As I said, who ever's planning this should check it out first...

Re: Albuquerque Distance Race
We could make it more exciting by putting cones on indian school. Put them low, so multiple people can pass them at the same time.

Re: Albuquerque Distance Race
I've got an idea for a course.
Bicycling, bicycle, bicycle parts, bicycle trips, bicycle tours, cycling, cyclists
Almost 3 miles.
It's a bike path, so no cars, only two roads to cross. The only scary part is where is goes under the freeway, it gets fast (if you go north) and if you fall you get to tumble down the huge ditch. And at UNM we can use the astronomy parking lot (big hill).
It can be ridden wither way too.

Re: Albuquerque Distance Race
I like the course that thokk2 pointed out... I will have to try that out sometime! If someone wants to help me go check it out just e-mail me. I am thinking that having a cross town race is just a little much for some people, and a 3-5 mile race would be perfect!!!
My e-mail if you want to help with the organization and check out a course is: wood.bryan25@yahoo.com
(sorry for any errors, I types this out on a iPod!!)

Re: Albuquerque Distance Race
Ok, I think I have the details figured out... Here they are
DETAILS:
+The course is the one thokk2 gave me here Bicycling, bicycle, bicycle parts, bicycle trips, bicycle tours, cycling, cyclists we will start at the south end where yale crosses the ditch.
+It will be open to all riders, no fee or anything, money if you want to eat at the end there is a schlotzsky's deli, wendys and other places near the northern end.
+We will start in the morning when it is cool and end at noon-ish, we will have heats, finals, depending on how many people show up.
+We will all get there on our own, it is on a path so the police won't care if we are there or not.
+Potential date for the event is father's day (the 21st) just cause i'm busy till then on the weekends.
If anyone has anything else to suggest let me know or just tell me if that seems like a good date. We will have registration at the beggining and such stuff like that.

Heats on a push race isn't the greatest idea...
Other than that, sounds good.
