If anyone else is interested in a trip to huntsville on saturday (tomorrow) to skate with some people from the fish then drop me a PM, or give me a call / txt. We might even try to hit up some garages around town tonight, so if anyones doing anything.. yea, call/txt/whateva.

Re: Contact for Texan Longboarders.
Who is this ALC you speak of. Yea mainly an OG site. But all are welcome. RedMathew post there alot. He is the father of DH in Texas. He was hitting MaryHill long before any of us ever stepped on a longboard. I will agree Texas DH racers are multiplying quite rapidly. I am seriously thinking of having the Texas Sizzler made into a 3 day race. 1 day dedicated to DH only. What ya think. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws.

Damn bro, Tommy told me about what happened... ouch. =/ We actually only got to hit one good 30mph+ hill a couple different times when the cops showed up and told us to get lost, lol.. but hey at least I got to take the Avenger up to 30, I'm happy. After the cop we went and found some BADASS apartment complex runs and busted out the carving boards. It was sick as hell, you could break 20 EASY in a ###### apartment complex drifting around the turns and ####.. and the layouts were fairly kind to us in relation to oncoming traffic. We even had an audience for a little "slide" show we put on, haha... I witnessed tommy do what im fairly certain was a toe side pendy =/ ######' siiick!!! haha, i actually tried to coleman to stop and was going so fast my board SKIPPED across the ground, with me and my glove trailing behind, lmfao.. but I managed to stick the slide and not eat it, so I'd call it successful. Anyways, this has been a silverfish success story get out there and meet some people, skate your hearts out.

Re: Contact for Texan Longboarders.
Okay here is the info yall have been waiting for. For starters I am Mike Wilson the founder of the skate team at Stephen F. Austin State Univerisity in Nacogdoches, Tx. The offical race weekend will be the weekend of October 17. There will be three events: the Downhill, the slolomn, and a slide comp.
The original plan for this competition had us expecting maybe 20 riders from either the houston or dallas area. as you can tell by the thread that guesstimate isnt anywhere near close to the numbers that have stated they are intrested, so i will be working my butt off to insure that we are able to accomidate the numbers that are showing intrest now.
The current coarse location is just under a mile and speeds range from 35-45 mph, and is a mostly strait course. Due to the fact that there has been so much intrest in our event we are currently looking for a second location for the advanced riders to race on. (more info to come).
We are working to get EMS out for the event we dont currently know if that will actually happen or not yet and we are looking at trying to get some safety barriers especially around several large trees ont he course.
While the official race settup has not yet been compiled we are planning to split the racers into beginer, intermediate, and pro catagories in order to help spread the wealth and bring more people back next year.
As of right now there are no entry fees, but that is subject to change now that we are looking at more skaters coming and the team is no longer able to even afford water for the racers who have already registered.
I currently have confirmation that the ATM Team will be coming (which i helped start). If you are the captain of a team and your team is planning to make a show please contact me and let me know how many riders you are expecting to enter.
Lodging has become another issue as of tonight. as of right now I am looking into seeing if a local farmer will let us camp out in his fields. There are also lots of hotels in Nacogdoches, so that is always an option.
Oh yeah sponsors..... The events only sponsor right now is ghoti longboards. some of the prizes they are giving the event include a complete longboard and gift cards. We are looking for other sponsors, and would like to get some local skate shop sponsorships from Houston, Austin, and Dallas/Ft. Worth, so if you have any contacts either with a local skate shop or a national brand please get me that information so we can make this THE event in Texas.
As far as coverage by the media.... yeah they will be there. The whole photography department at the university has stated their wish to come, along with a radio station, local paper, and a tv station. so BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR.
As always events like these dont just happen on their own, maybe you are injured, just like to watch, or want to help make sure this is a kick ass event we can always use help behind the scenes so please contact me and let me know what you are willing to help out with.
I will be hosting a few team captains this weekend at my apartment and showing them the course, if you know that your captain would be intrested in doing the same let me know and we can try and schedule a date before the event( lets try to limit this invitation to capts and event coordinators since i have a very small apartment). I will post pictures when i am able.
I will keep checking this thread as i am able.
Please contact me if you want to help out or know that you are coming.

Re: Contact for Texan Longboarders.
Id be down for that race! that sounds awesome.
my names Scott Jones and my # is:
832-453-3324
I live out in katy. but go to the 610-59 area to skate places like ed's, precash, bcbs. just in the general area. so if you live in katy and want to go out there feel free to call me, but i usually only go on saturdays. But if you plan on going to edwards (ed's) Please dont go before 1am or even 1:30.
some people go at 10 pm and then the cops show and dont leave untill like 3 am. its really annoying. and lately, cops have been cracking down so its hard to go to ed's, and its one of the, if not the most fun garages in houston. and if you havent been there dont say it isnt. go there and you will poop your pants. and it will trail out of your pant leg as you go down ed's.
and its always fun if you make it fun. and really bad if you hate everything...
aside from garages i go down to Lee and Jo jamial skate park on mondays or tuesday mornings around 9 or 10 am almost weekly. and theres way more you can do there if you really be creative. its a tight park.

Re: Contact for Texan Longboarders.
A few of us going out tonight in the Houston area, two of my friends and I will be meeting Tommy from huntsville in the woodlands area or something.. we're planning to hit a couple garages but haven't settled on which ones yet. Edwards is a possibility as the night progresses, but we will probably start somewhere else due to the prime time at Edwards being past 1am. Tommy said he knows a couple in the Woodlands.. We can start early if they don't have security on Saturday nights, and we can always hit HP off louetta and 249.. other options are also being considered. But if anyone wants to hook up with us and skate, my number is on the first page. We're always looking for new people to chill with. Also if you would want to skate and know somewhere else we could hit, that would be totally rad
anyways, hit me up?
