When you guys thinking about coming west. Is it the same weekend we be coming your way, Fri 6th? If so, it's Sun. (Nov. 8th) predawn DH'n in SA, then cones with Borto (late morning) in North Austin somewhere, then more DH'n w/ Tommy ALC somewhere.

I just found out at a meeting today that my architectural firm (i'm a partner) will be designing a new 10 level 1400 car parking garage for the new university hospital tower being built in our medical center here in SA. Depending on if we get the construction administration for it, I should have total access to it up until the day it's turned over to the owner. I've done 2 garages before, one at Texas State (which I skated during the end of construction) and one at A&M. The contractors typically will let the architects do what ever. They are wanting a scissor type structure with turn around in the middle, I'm hoping to influence a little extra transition the hairpins (customs style). Anyway I thought that this is cool, even though construction won't start for at least another year.

@Kelly I don't know yet. I just wanna see what other cities have to offer. When would be a good weekend?

@TexasBomber, that's pretty sweet: a skater that helps design garages. If it was me, I'd be like, "Yeah let's add another 6 levels to this garage, making it cool 15 levels. Oh yeah, and let's make it a double down, and at then end of each down, there should be banks (like on a NASCAR track)"
"But Mr. Blaximus, this garage is only for about two hundred cars!"
"I don't care. Haven't you seen A Field of Dreams? "If you build it, they will come!"
    Life's a bitch. And I'm her pimp.

Yes "helps design" is a very operative way of putting it. I have most of the influence on the overall design and layout of the garage. The real prime consultant would be the project's structural engineer, he will actually make the thing "not fall down". His job is to calculate the loads and stresses of spanning the concrete beamed roofs and floors with the least amount of freestanding columns. On a project like this his fees will run more than mine for sure.
