    Default Albuquerque Winter Outlaw

I'm talking it upon myself to put this together.

LOCATION- Not going to post it here, but I'll let you know in a email if you would like.
DATE- TBA (planning right before school starts again, or New Years Day.)
ENTRY FEE- $20, all monies will be divided among the top finishers. (I'm thinking such a high price to deter tons of people racing. The more riders the higher chance of us getting kicked out.)

New style of racing format- Staggered Chinese DH Race.
    Here's how it works-
We set up at the top with all riders in rows or four. Depending on how many riders we have we may have three rows of four, or ten rows of four. Then everyone goes down at once, each row starting at the same time at their respective starting line. At the bottom you are awarded points depending on your overall place. Then we immediately shuttle everyone to the top. Then the rows are circulated, first row of riders goes to the back and everyone other row moves forward. Wash, rinse repeat. We could do it till the rows have been circulated all the way around, till we get kicked out, or till the sun goes down.

Speeds will be around 40mph, depending on wind and your drafting ability. Road has some sweeping turns.

Backup hill is planned, 3 Mile Ditch. 30mph in a ditch, with debris, sharp turns, low bridges, the works.

Fullface helmets and slide gloves mandatory, leathers are suggested.

I would need some help setting it up. And tons of shuttle drivers.

Send me a email if you would like to attend or volunteer.

When are you leaving to go back?

I have a back-up road planned, it's in the East Mountains. So it should be good, assuming it's not covered in snow. Water Tower Down

its called water tank down and that would be a dangerous road to throw a outlaw on...people would get BROKE OFF. and tis probably already covered in cinders.

not trying to be mr. negativity here, stoked u are taking it upon yourself to organize a event!
to go for a skate is to go for a drift, to explore the streets looking for hidden places, opportunities for creative misappropriation; it is to recombine the artifacts of production and reinterpret the city for oneself-ocean howell

Water Tank Down, gotcha. It is a scary road... I've played around on it, but never gone all out. I'll trust your judgment and try and find another back-up.

Yeah, both of those will work.

Ooo! Ooo! I have an idea! If there hasn't been any weather for a while, the backup hill will be.... (pause for more dramatic effect) ...wait for it... 3 MILE DITCH! With the same staggered-chinese style heats.

    Dude, $20 is a lot...

I can help plan, and may be able to find some shuttlers. Email me or something if you want me to start contacting other sponsors or anything.

Just go for it. We don't need anything big, stickers and stuff like that would be enough.

I'll be there, but 20 dollars is a little much, especially if people don't know you. skaters dont always have that much money to put down

I'm down! You should try to not do it on New Years Day. I might not be here. The week after would be better. $20 works. Little high but it'll make the race higher stakes. We should talk to Rob at Koa Nalu also. He seems to be really eager to get involved in the whole scene. He'd be sure to help out (Banshee Bungee[!])

Will is working on getting us sponsors for the race. If you have any to suggest, let him know.

Sam, the entry fee is high for a reason. I don't want every longboarder in Albuquerque there, only the die-hard. Too many people means we get kicked out very quick.

New Years Day works best for the location, far less cars and the forest rangers either don't care or aren't there.

Everyone who is planning on coming- please send me an email with your full name so I can get a riders list together.
