Just joined today, in SA and will be setting up a longboard here in the near future... I'm also over 30 and would like to get in on that action.... Hey Barnett, PM, It would be cool to ride with some guys my own age instead of with my son and his friends.. They just don't get the old school stuff.
i'm in Austin, i've been riding in barton hills and out southwest parkway
also live in south austin...new to longboarding and would appreciate some suggestions for some moderate, low traffic hills or garages...sometimes i carve down from barton hills school area to the market and have been to some low key garages near barton skyway and mo-pac. i am willing to drive. thanks
Dman, shoot me a pm, i live in the heights and we have been hitting a nice mellow 3 story in Garden Oaks and a 14 story near the dome. Usually on sunday evening, the security just waves. Tbone said he was going to be in town this weekend, so maybe we can all meet up. Oh yeah im in Houston.
hay dude i live in san antonio. do u want to like get a group togather or somthin. ive been tryin to forever. my email is bratsctt@yahoo.com....so yah let me know. peace.
Fort Worth.. Anyone? I'll be getting back down to austin soon enough, we need to have a garage session or something, would be my first one in state!
P.S. hook em! 7-6 in the 3rd quarter
I'm in San Antonio. There's a group of us that skate together. At least two or three of us get together once a weeek or so. The catch is...we're mid 30's and older. HAHAHA. we skate everything from ditches, garages and the bowl at the public park. All styles and sizes of boards, but not too many popsicles...mostly pigs and longboards.
San Antonio geezer-skaters without cell-phones unite!
Yea...where's the "seas" Death Frog? (if you don't mind us asking)
Howdy,
Louis from San Antonio.
I should post more here.
Nice place.
You SA types feel free to p.m. your numbers and I'll give ya shout when we skate. There's almost always at least a couple of us skating on any given day. I think there 6 of us at a ditch today, and I skated with another Geezer at LBJ. We skate ditches, bowls, ramps and garage bomb...whatever the mood is for the day/week!
By the way...if you haven't already...check out TX Asylum for older style wheels, decks, trucks. Tell Robbie me and Louis sent ya. I work right next door at Element Tattoos.
you Texas fellas who aren't already on it need to go hit up www.bonelessone.com and get registered for the forums there

SW corner 38th and lamar
watch out for cops and security; they are around there on occasion.. nice and mellow and fun, stop at the 2nd or 3rd floor for easy unseen re-elevation.
The one next door is sketchy-- rake finished crete and very exposed.
When you are ready to kick it up a notch (in the speed, gnar and bust factor) ask someone about Stokes.

4real on the bust factor. got busted after 2 runs last week.
How did you get popped, blimp ? I saw 2 short boarders getting stuffed in a cop car last time I was stoked. Did you get taken down or just booted? After midnite, no shrieking hard wheels, back to the elevator on 2 { 0r is it 3?], and carry no contraband. I love to get 88 floors in and scram. There is a bank nearby that not bad but stokes is the one.

I think it was just bad luck, cop coming in off his beat. He looked kinda surprised, and we were too... We stop on the 3rd floor, but we were taking off so we went to the 2nd floor. I was heading to the stairs to make a clean exit and he pulled onto the 2nd floor and immediately hit his lights. I was the first one down, i footbraked, put my board up against the wall and walked over to him. The other two guys came down after me and stopped and all came up to the cop. The two dudes I was with were older, in their 40s, and i'm almost 30. Cop asked for ID, I had mine, the other dudes didn't. He asked what we were doing, we all said somthing like "just taking a cruise" or "just having some fun" He looked at my id for like 20 seconds and then asked us "You guys just wanna get outa here, don't you?" we all said "Yes sir."
then we bailed for the next garage...
TX state troopers are pretty cool about it, they just tell you to leave. Austin PD are the worst, they'll bust ur ass.
There's four of us here that know that area. What days are you there?
Luther
Before the time change, i'd hit up the place off SW parkway after work, now i just go for an hour or so during my lunch. One day it was super busy with construction workers and I think one of the foreman called the cops. Right as I was getting in my car to leave a cop car drove past me. It looped down the big hill and then followed me for about 1/2 mile or so... Now I drive the road and make sure the workers are working elsewhere...
Another time some foreman dude thought it was a trip that i was skating the hill, followed me to clock my speed and told his underlings to give me rides back up the hill.
