Lonely Geeeezzzzird
I'm looking for some cruiz'n buddies! I'm a 46 year old carver, moderately risky, infant slider, just bought a helmet, 6-2/260lb boarder living near San Antonio, Texas. Anybody out there that could get me in touch with prospects would be greatly appreciated. Don't let my youthfulness fool you!

Hey, I heard about this thread at a ditch sesh last night. The older set is always looking for new membership in this area. I am pretty familiar with the scene. We should get together sometime. When's a good time for you?

Re: Lonely Geeeezzzzird
hey Austin & Dorian you miss a good down hill session on Sunday, I got to the hill at 6:20 no wind and it the mid 70's my first three runs were 54.9, 55, 54.8 mph after the sun came up the wind started to come up the hill so it got slow 46 to 48 mph never the less it was a good day. Cops pass by twice no hassle .
Hope you guys can make it next weekend I will like to skate Seven Oaks again
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, cold beer in one hand - longboard in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming, Yeaa Haaa What A Ride!!!

Hey Dorian I have a differential gps, acurate to 5ft radius. I strap it to my left arm and go.

Re: Lonely Geeeezzzzird
Yea, I've heard of the meets at Wahoo's. Monday's are usually reserved for SATown (it's a long story). In fact i've been invited by Shane who i've known over a number of years and just recently a young lady named Halle (sic). I do have it on my list of "things to do". In the meantime there are a handful of Geezer's here in SATown worthy of skating with, and one helluva backyarder in the form of "The Claw". Fear not kelbobber1 we'll do what we can to quell your lonliness.
I must say i downhill but, the speeds some of you guys are clocking make me feel like a wuss.

Don't juidge you're self so hard. We are used to going fast because we Dh on a weekly basis, and have been doing it for quite a while now, but wen I started DH I started on the middle of the hill and each time walk up a little further till I was at the top. The body has to learn how to react and in some cases how not to react and get use to the sensation of speed . You're not a wuss, you just need more practice that's all

Re: Lonely Geeeezzzzird
True, That's the same approach i had with Big View when i skated it. Not sure how fast i was going just kept it within reason. I am a "cough-cough" newly inducted member of the Texas Outlaws i just want it to be long term as opposed to short.

Re: Lonely Geeeezzzzird
I'm in SATX. I do a little carving and such, but my main discipline is LDP. I'm a Brackenridge Park almost daily either from 8-10 am or 6-8 pm. I do 20 miles a day. PM me if you ever want to do some distance skating.

Re: Lonely Geeeezzzzird
20 miles LDP? That's insane in this heat. The thought never crossed my mind. It sounds like fun. Although i can't say i've done it perhaps i should try. I spend more than my share of time at LBJ. I live near the Riverwalk. I'll hit u up in the near future.
