I found this hill just before paving went in. Came back a few days later to find a fresh, steep, dead end road to test my carving skills. This little stretch is almost 3 tenths of a mile long, but for those of us who could loose some tonnage this means 4 or 5 runs equates to 1.5 miles of pretty demanding uphill walk, run, pump. Remember for an old (46) geezzzzird like me controlling the speed is probably a wise thing to do. You young sons can do whatever you want. Just a reminder it’s a dead end into some big water filled barricades. Usually just see maybe one curious car wandering where that rd goes. Importunely it’s starting to get screwed up cause badasseswithbig4wheeldrives are tracking out onto the steep with their muddyfcknmudders.
I'd be hip for a little carving session with any of you guys around these parts. Bring your leaf/dirt blower.
You'll find the hill behind the Lowes out I10 west past 1604. Turn in by Chickfela, find the Lifetime Fitness go up the hill to the other side. Front side is longer and wider but really dusty by construction vehicles.
I am curious. We used to hit one near Kyle Seale Pkwy. but gave up due to further development. Similar problem 'cept it was earthmoving equipment tracking dirt. Maybe the recent rains have cleared things a bit.
I miss living around there. I used to live at Las Colinas on Chase HIll back when I was at UTSA. We did some runs down Kyle Seale, but that was back during the Inline skating days of the mid-late 90's. I think Solidskate/surf was still in San Antonio then. I'll be up there this weekend for the tattoo convention.
Cool, Not sure what your time schedule is like. If you've got time to roll around look up Dan Barnett. My understanding is he's a top notch artist, pinstriper, tattoo's etc. Very likely he'll be at the convention. You might find some of his work at the BDS website he does work for Wes on a regular basis. As well as a good guy to skate with. I'll probably visit the parental units so i'm out.
Ah The Rim, there is a neighborhood in that area by the name of Crown Ridge, and they have some STEEP hills with some turning involved. Its been awhile since Ive been there, and I think I may be returning in the very near future.
come good downhill runs in SA? who knew. if someone is willing to PM me a place to look at and wants to skate it with me, send me a PM or tell me who to contact.

There is a reason they (spots) aren't too blown-out. From my experience the locals are real "cagey" about disclosing information. The reason is "tagging". It seems the minute you find a cool spot some jerk with a spray can wants to claim ownership. I'll talk to some of the Geezer's and see what's still cool. Another problem is all my guy's are knee deep in work or family. Not to mention alot of develeopment. It seems SATown isn't growing fast enough for some folk. Sad

completely reasonable, but I ride with therosen (Dorian) and we are certainly not that type, we're just lookin for more people to ride with and more hills to hit! always open to sessions, if y'all come down to Austin to skate, we'll be more than happy to show you around and skate some hills with you

You're on point Savage and that rule pertains more to ditches etc. as opposed to hills. One of my fave's was littered with dirt from earth movers last i checked. Thanks to recent rains that may no longer apply. Also with all the development there's new terrain. I'll do some "recon" and see what's up.
I feel this! The answer is... A small pick-up truck a crew of no less than three riders, and a walk through. One poor soul drives back up the hill. The other two bomb. Wash,Rinse,Repeat...! It's been awhile. We where by no means downhillersl The theory and the recipe worked. Got pics to prove it. Let me talk to some locals to check time frames.

I don't claim ownership and it's not Texas friendly leave folks out. Come one, come all right now my enemy is time. I've got alot of issues to resolve. Let me get my poop together and we'll see.
