Default Cool Places to Skate in AZ

Ok this is ridiculous....It's 110 for the 500th straight day in Phoenix. Where are some cooler places to skate in the state that are worth driving too? Don't tell me Tucson because it's 109 there!

P.S. Yes the heat is getting to me.

If you're looking for a place in AZ that's cool during the summer you're boned. It's just too hot anywhere in this stupid state. But, it IS nice to skate everywhere when it really cools down. It's just a matter of if you like downhilling or cruising on flat land.

It's just going to be REALLY hot for another 3 months.

If you like DH then go up to the Mogollon Rim and even up into Sedona. It's beautiful up there, and it's nice and cool. Not to mention amazing DH.

I'm in scottsdale, I found a decent 5 story garage around PV mall.. hands down BEST way to beat the heat. I'm actually supposed to meet some people up there in about 10 min. best time's to go are sundays

haha we were there yesterday as well and it is the one next to walmart. were pretty much there almost everyday, but were starting to look for other spots around that area. do you know of any other garages?

we usually just fly right under that cable, i've thought about jumping it and landing on the other side but my board's way too flexy. starting off on that 5th level at about 5-6 in the morning feels amazing

If you want somewhere cool (not temperature-wise) then go to Silent Sunday next week! I'm going there with a few people. It's where we're going to be having the race in January.

    Hey Pirate

I picked up my longboard (ordered rather) Thanks for the inspiration, just the prodding I needed to take the plunge. Saw you posted that you joined here, figured I'd check it out as well, get some tips and advice and keep up with new info. Probably won't run into you much over here though, seems slow. [/shoutout]

    Peace.

    Mr. Pressure

What up's to all the hot blacktop ridin AZ people as well!

Duhhh, it is a longboarding forum...

Kracked Skulls, M1, 46in, 72mm Pink Powerballs, Oust Moc7 bearings, shipped gripped and ready to roll, just got my label info updated in my email even  man i hate waiting!!! - pix on arrival

Who else here rides a KS deck? First hand opinions? Most reviews from people like me with general and/or basic needs really seem to like em.

Best of luck, i look forward to being able to bomb a hill without worry for life and limb

Well this is not cool at all in July but I skated along the canal bike path in Central Phoenix this weekend. Almost all asphalt on the stretch I was on and plenty of pretty steep underpasses to keep it interesting. I think the thing goes for miles.

The part I was on is in central Phoenix, I think the AZ Push started on Hayden and went south to Tempe Town Lake.

I'm still getting to know the route but it might be paved from around 24th St to 75 Ave. Maybe a future push?
