Also, Devon and I were talking about more ways of promoting Team Albuquerque and our outlaw races. First off, we should try an get in touch with timeship racing and see if they want to come check us out and even join us for some skating. Also, we should try to get to know the skate shops better and try to see what they can do for us. There are a few events that go on during the year that are primarily aimed at street skaters but maybe we could get these events to include longboarding (DH, slalom, sliding). I'm sure if we introduced some street skaters to sliding we could find some common ground and work from there to support each other. Anywho, those are just a few ideas on how to grow the scene and get some support for future events.

    See you all tomorrow!
also in the future, we need to make flyers for races to give to skate shops so they can help advertise. remember people, racing starts at 10 am sharp, and practice runs with spotters and such will start at 9:30 am. race fast, race hard, race to win.

^^Bear, thanks for calling for both races. Just so you guys know, i'm very much a noob, and often busy on sundays. I usually work Saturdays 'till 12, wake up late, then do what i need to do for the week. Chores, buisness, w/e.

Thanks very much for the invites, and i do hope to attend eventually.

tsr would be down to come check out your races....only problem is getting all of us together on a day off of work to come skate. what days are you doing the ABQ outlaw races??

i would come down myself but i'm so flippin' broke after hitting all the european races that i can't afford gas money to get to ABQ!
to go for a skate is to go for a drift, to explore the streets looking for hidden places, opportunities for creative misappropriation; it is to recombine the artifacts of production and reinterpret the city for oneself-ocean howell

So stoked about today. David, it would be awesome for you to come down and school us, and I'm sure people would be willing to drive a little north and hit SF with you too.

There was a girl to rolled up in the middle of the last heat, wanted to ride, then we didn't see her again, does anyone know who she is? are you on the 'fish?

the flying was awesome, the racing was intense and uber fun, and next weeks race is completely different. next sunday we are doing the new ditchslap course in harper. the harper ditch race will be at the part of the ditch at san pedro and san antonio. NOT up by wyoming. david, it would be sick if you guys came to this one, and brought your timers with you.

the next race after that will be team time trials ( location to be decided), or a chinese ditch race in 3 mile ditch. vote on it. when can we expect another vid devon?

    What are team time trials?

Tiana and I will work on the video this week, so if anyone had footage please e-mail it to me. thokk2@earthlink.net . Or if you can't put it on youtube and send me the link so I can steal it.

Tiana and I were thinking of an idea for the next race (not Harper). We hold time trials, and the faster half of the racers have a separate bracket from the slower half. This might not work with "team time trials".....?

Also, I think the East-Mountains are a good place for the race after Harper.

team time trials are where two people join up and make a two man team, and instead of race against each other, they race with each other to the end of the course, and the timer stops only when both people on the team cross the line. this emphasizes riding with someone of your own ability, so that you time is better. it's like racing a clock with another person instead of racing that person.

just did the math. currents team abq ratings:

    1. bear, devon, gabe
    2. alex
    3. shawn, kris
    4. ross
    5. ian

    Ooo... I tie for first....

Anyway.... here is our race from today.
Bicycling, bicycle, bicycle parts, bicycle trips, bicycle tours, cycling, cyclists
To see the elevation plot and everything click "action" and then "plot elevation".
I now realize why it was so fast... it was steeper than I thought.

upsetting news from the weather forecast for sunday. i'm thinking we will do the team time trials, and if the weather is permitting, then we will do the harper race in the afternoon immeadiately following, each race will still be $5, and you don't have to go to both, but it would be really fun to do both. questions, comments?

Where are we having the team time trials? Hopefully somewhere long and with a few good straights.

    And on the video....
If anyone knows how to contact the guy who was wearing the blue "staff" shirt and hanging out of the chase car with the camera, you should do so. And ask him again to e-mail the footage to me --- thokk2@earthlink.net .
If I don't get it within the next few days I'm just going to use what I have, it's not much, but It's good.
