Re: houston folks
I went and rode the garage at Richmond and the Beltway last night...it's massive! But some of the turns are sandy and I almost slid out. Still fun though.
Anyone tried these two somewhat tall bank garages over in Uptown? link
Looks like 8 or 9 stories, perhaps. I might go check it out tonight.

Re: houston folks
that's precash, it's not bad, pavement is decent, it's about 10 stories, just don't go down to the last floor or you'll get busted, stop on two or three

Re: houston folks
Thanks! I might head down there in a bit.
BTW, if anyone is interested in a place to work on LDP, I have been doing this bike loop in the evenings at Rice University. It is lit, very smooth, a quarter-mile around, and quiet at night. You can park anywhere near it in the lot, and police have not approached me when I'm using it. I wouldn't use it during the day when bikers are on it though, but it's a good place for LDP at night that is completely lit, free from traffic, and extremely smooth.

Re: houston folks
Ha yes! Props to Hanael for thinking Rice's bike loop a significant discovery for LDPers!
My setup is so much fun! Since I've got it, I rode down the path along the Buffalo Bayou for a couple miles, have done the bike loop a couple times to practice, and have pumped to campus much more easily. I threw the Zigzags on too. In doing so, I think I also threw the bearings that were in the zigzags on my Never Summer, but it rides fine (whatever they are).
My front foot hurts like crazy though after a couple miles!! Is it the lack of concavity on my board, my shoes, or my weight distribution?
I also haven't really done much garage riding to decide if I can handle speed with the wobbly Bennetts.

Re: houston folks
Nah, you should be able to ride garages with that setup.
Your foot hurts? it's normal. it'll be like that for awhile, until you're used to....uhm..everything.
Glad you like it, haha.

it's at the corner or travis and main.

I suggest getting some doctor sholes. makes you feel like an old man when you buy them but they feel good and pretty much stop the pain.

Yeah sidewalks are cool, i usually skate around there while my son is at the skate park but houston area is so flat the garages are the only thing to skate....lots of smooth blacktop and some waycool drainage ditches in the new braunsfels and seguin area. Not that bad of a drive and if you hit highways early sunday its pretty traffic free.

Hershey park is a lot of fun. I did like 7 miles this weekend just for kicks and giggles. there is very little foot traffic on weekdays. BRING WATER. Its off of beltway 8 just south of I-10 the parking area is underneath the beltway you can missit.
