#### didnt catch the date on that one, sorry buddy. Ill be in cali from Oct 29 to Nov 3rd, hitting THOSE HILLS! Hell yeah Im bringing the Evo with me, carry on baggage! Dont know what IM doing with my full face haha, it MIGHT fit in my girlfriends suit case, it expands or somethin. So I wont be here for the skate session unfortanatly. As for the name, I dunno man, I think it should definitly have something to do with skating over all. Its like naming your new pipe or bong, just let it come to ya man! It will in due time. You at the office man?
[QUOTE=kelbobber1;1297220579]OK Ya'll (you guys), let's try to get it together. We are rapidly closing in on the end of Daylight Saving Time which ends the first weekend in November. It'll be the last Saturday evening to skate at 6:30 pm and still have enough light for an hour to hour and a half to see and be seen by. The good news is, at least for us early risers (not you Sly), its going to be light at 6:00 a.m. the next (Sun.) morning. WHAT!!! 6 A.M.???? Ya thats right! What this means is almost any road or neighborhood we choose to skate will be asleep, for the most part, we can handle the amount of light traffic that may exist. Hey, you guys ever hear of "early bird gets the worm", or "can't sore with the eagles if you fly with the owls"? Nothing's worth anything without some sacrafice, we're only talking about a little sleep.
Alright, I'm going to get up on my soap box. I'm revealing my age here. I could be most of you guys' dad and maybe even your f _ _ king grandfather and still out party you till "the stinkn' cows come home" and still get up at or before the crack of dawn, (or what the f_ _ k just stay up all night) and go do something I really want to. It's not a challenge but it can be. Ok, ok I'll ease up a little. A couple of weekends ago I went up to Austin to watch a bunch do some serious DH'n. Fairly well organized with exception of starting too late. It was scheduled for 9 a.m. but truly didn't start till 10-10:30. By then too hot, too many cars, sherrif, not enough time. So wake up and smell the coffee and let's bomb something, somewhere early Sun. Morning.
Suggestion, and please chime in with yours: Lets get together at 6 p.m. at my office in Olmos Park Sat the 1st. We'll quickly meet and then go skate a local fav. a couple of times and then pump downtown on McCullough. Maybe have chase vehicles for those like grandpa here that may need some assistance (NOT!!!). Or maybe hit a garage somewhere. But for those serious DHers, meet at 6o am on the 2nd out at Babcock and Scenic Loop. It's 1/2 to 3/4 mile run with long gradual curves and 40 -45 MPG possibilities. I've done it, it's good, and there will be virtually no cars for a couple of hours.
Let's hear it, what do ya'll say?
Hey man, If what i'm readin' is right Stone oak parkway has some really rippin' hills! I'm with you K B get up early and avoid the traffic. Also get yourself amped on some good coffee or monster. Then go bombin'. I would also like to know if any one has been on the road hwy 31 west just off 35N . You get there in San Marcos. It takes you into the heart of the hill country and you eventually connect with FM 1886 I think. It's been a few years since I have been on those backroads but at one point I remember looking into a lot of canyon space. I think there may be KILLER runs that way and your skate skills better be exellent. Can you or someone who has been that way recently tell me if there are some long and scarry fast runs that way? 50 mph plus would suite me.
Also I'm a year younger than you KB!

Hey William, you ride with the bombsquad boys? Were you at the event in Austin a few weeks back? I got the pleasure of hitting some garages and the narrows with Brandon and Tanner, awesome guys. But yeah, stone oak is about as hardcore DH as its here in SA. Not any winding roads or turns that I know of, but fast straight bombs if your into it. I havnt been over 40 personally, and I will be joining the navy within the next few months and dont want to take too much risk, I cannot absolutly not getting any kind of injuries, so Ill be taking it easy the next few months. As for road hwy 31, I beleive Kelly is familiar with it, he might be able to chime in on it and provide some info.
There will be skating going on tonight, in the 1604/bandera area. Starting around 10 30, if your in town, feel free to join. Not sure til how late, Ill have my girl friend with me and she knows how much I enjoy skating and doesnt mind coming out, so we will see. Hit me up, 210 317 1437.
i'm from Boerne (just north of San Antonio), but now I live out in Waco. Where do you guys usually ride in SA?
mostly at stone oak area since i just moved here, but im starting to find some other really good places too. the babcock and bandera areas are alright but you wont get above 25 anywhere as far as i know. i was actually in boerne earlier today and found a huge hill but the asphalt was way too rough. downtown has good garages but you gotta definitely watch out for security. you ever comin back to visit man?

Yeah, I'm coming back down next weekend, but its only for three days. I've got too many people to catch up with to throw down any serious skate time.
I think I know what hill you are talking about. There's a decent one off mainstreet by the YMCA/Bealls area. You ride down mainstreet into boerne, turn right at the light with the autozone on the right hand side corner. Turn left into those neighborhood streets. I can't remember exactly where in there it is, but it isn't more than a minutes drive in.
Also, there is another good hill in boerne over by the First Baptist Church. It's sketch though because alot of cars travel it and its fairly steep. But you go down mainstreet and turn left at the Broadway Bank (I think that's the bank. If you cross the bridge into downtown boerne, you went to far) and then the road will "T" into the hill.
Also, If you ride down I-10, on your left hand side there is a neighborhood called "Highlands Ranch". You will have to take the Fair Oaks parkway exit and turn around at the bridge. It's really nice. I have a friend that road down the main road hill continually sliding and was going over 30 mph. There are plenty of nice hills in there. Everything from chill to pretty damn crazy.

Thanks Shark. This thread is now LOADED with nice spots, saving them all to my Maps so i can keep them in mind. Never heard of high lands ranch before, but im gonna check it out as soon as I get done eatin here in a minute. I ride a lot in Olmos Park and was just cruising around yesterday and found what seems to be a nice little right hand turn at about 20 that can be taken, just something Ive been looking for too. If youve got enough time to ride at all this weekend, hit me up my number is in this thread a few posts above.
Calvin, did yall do any more skating after last night? Sorry about not hittin up crown ridge man, I felt bad about having Jennifer there cause she coudlnt do anything and didnt know anyone else there. One of these days we gotta hit it up, I think I remember some steep turns.

Hey Kelly, I would be down to go but alas I do not have my own car, and am pretty short on cash to use my brothers truck to get gas. I was thinking of hitting up the SAC parking garage tomorrow sometime, when it starts to not be so hot probably. Maybe do some runs on that turn I found in OP as well.

Sweet man, where was it at? The Babcock run? Kelly told me that they have repaved the Evans road, so we should def think about hitting up stone oak area again.

Keith good to see your still around. Had some shorts sessions this past week. We should plan something out for this week. Im interested in hitting up that babcock run, Ill have to bring my girl again, or she drop me off, unless she just lets me use her car this time. Its really pissing me off not having my own car these days. Have you been riding at all Keith?
Ok. I've been home about two weeks.
And I'm bored as fcuk...keep me in the loop.
Nov. 1st? I'm in as soon as I go back and read the when an wheres.
Anyone ever hit Marnoch? It's out in Helotes. I worked a summer camp in the area when I found it, tho I didn't have the cajones nor the medical to run it...

I live in Helotes, Texas. Yes, I cycle and hit that hill on my way home from Scenic loop. I buddy of mine lives on Rafter s which T's into that street. The nieghborhood has three hills that are some of the steepest paved roads in Texas. TowerView, Cash Mountain, and Marnoch are each 16% to 20% grade, major slide fest. Nobody I know has the balls to bomb those hills, I fly (freefall) down them on my Colnago (bike). Just standing at the top scares the shit out me. I've posted photos it Marnoch on this site before, the steepness is unbelievable. Don't know when you were that there, they repaved it, smooth a glass and scary as ever.

Is this a longboarding site or a scared cycler site. It would be so scary if one would go out and skate'em every once in a while.
Sly and I went out to Stone Oak last night around midnight and did Evers coming in from 281. Asphalt is less then a week old and it's the best paving job around. We worked our way nearly to the top ofr the main road where all the guard rales are. Was very nice>
