good job dude. I've never had to face to horror of having a bearing seize up because of neglect or water exposure but I would imagine that it happens at the worst possible moment, at the highest speed lol. I have two sets of s9 greaseballs that I use specifically when it rains. I ripped the shield off one side and the unshielded side always faces inward. They're crappy and relatively cheap and with the missing shields they are easy to clean.

wow 5? that's awesome man. are they pretty good? where did you guys skate? how close are you guys to driving?

I guess the fish can be pretty misleading. I've skated since 5th grade and I never knew about the fish until I moved here in july and decide to google it. Pretty weird now that I think about it. I used to go to NCDSA.com back in the day when it was really active, but now that they've changed their layout it seems to have died pretty hard.

So I finally found an unsuspecting Home Depot that has draws full of 4x4 corian, not just the little ones. The only problem is that it's on the far south side of town past work so I'm not over that way very often.

Anyways, how long have you guys been sliding your tiles? I've had mine ~3 months and have only started sliding a lot the last 1.5 months and look what progress I've made...

the pictures suck but I think you can make out the difference in thickness from one side to the other. I thought it was interesting.

    peace

    Triple post...suck it.

I showed this to Luke the other day on the way to the race.
I found several of these bad boys in a neighborhood south of lackland that has some hills with potential (i've actually stumbled across several hills that i'll be pm-ing out soon).
    Anways...see for yourself, I couldn't believe it...idea for a SLAB shirt eh?

i met one of them through a friend and we skated today and them some of his friends showed up.

@ jake: not really haha, most of them just cruise and they all either had sector 9s or arbors which isnt necessarily a bad thing. None of them had helmets or slide gloves or anything like that but i might help them make some. We were just skating an heb parking lot. I was only there long enough to meet everyone because i had to be back by dark.
Im going to get some of them to come up to highland park some day.

Ill be 16 next year in august and i think most of those guys are older than me.

Jake that sign is pretty sweet, the guy on the left looks almost like hes even going down a hill. A guy I skate with here uses corian tiles I think he gets from home depot, and when he slides they start spraying powder, and leave huge marks on the road in what ever color they are. I picked up some mud slide UHMW round pucks about 4 weeks ago for 12 bucks and theyve barely worn after sliding a lot. Cutting board doesnt even come close. One thing Ive learned is different road types wear your pucks and wheels differently.

I use the 'industrial strength' velcro from home depot. Sometimes you will luck out and get a batch that had a couple of Chinese factory kids fall into the adhesive during the manufacturing process. Stickier. Reboundier.

+1 for the mudslides. My gloves are starting to get pretty destroyed (holes and whatnot). I think I'm gonna buy some mud slides with the greenhorn pucks. $20 for gloves + full set of pucks. Not too bad.

I don't know how you guys destroy gloves so fast... Mine are finally falling apart after two years plus.

On monday after I finally turn this project in (assuming I'm still awake and actually finish) I'm totally skating until I can't walk. On my list:
    -go FAST
    -rail some FAST corners
-make a video for the haters
    -find a shuttle

I'm thinking of a Iron mistress, mount doom, say raunch tour. Mike? Luke? Jake? (Kelly?) You guys in?

Mitch: the gloves I bought were alright at first, but they started coming apart at the seams. Probably due to the fact that I've had a couple of pretty gnarly wipeouts where my gloves either took the initial impact or ended up sliding for a good while with a lot of my weight on them.

I met an old school boarder today while me and Jerry (one of the rowdy bombers) were having a mini sesh on campus. He told me he wants to start skating with us. He didn't realize that there was a longboard scene here in SA. According to his business card he's the superintendent for Bartlett Cocke (the company doing the construction on campus). Pretty cool dude. Im gonna invite him out to spec next week.

I cruised by Sugar Bear at lunch and saw the cement trucks getting ready to pour the foundation for the streets...exciting.
