It was a little dustier than I thought bc of the construction so I moved to a new hill further back in the neighborhood. I didn't bomb it, just sliding around. It was sunny and cool outside...just great.
That new hill...which I will call "poncho villa" is just as slidy as sugar bear but 2x wider. It backs up directly to the back gate of the bitchy gated community that writes our plates down bc they don't want us skating their perfectly paved 40mph hill.
...but they don't close the back gate hehe. I didn't skate in there bc I didn't want to get busted...but I did slide around right in front of their open back gate so when all of the rich, horrified white people drove their big SUV's by they could get used to skaters out there...like training circus animals.
(on a side note that hill in the neighborhood starts at the back gate, the runout ends at the front gate...perfect for a bomb and go run8))
I set up the dually with 50* rll's with 88a sabre barrels and 86a sabre cones plus the otangs. O.M.G. pure fun. I was able to get some small standy's going without much effort
I also put my green 69mm 80a s9 something wheels on the avenger to break them in. They were awful to slide the first few times...really sticky and unpredictable. After a while they started to come around. I was really working hard on my heelside slides, starting to get the hang of it.
A long time ago Luke and I did a run out that way that lasted like 2 or 3 minutes. Not very fast...maybe 25...but it was looong and that's great training for your tuck/drafting. Anyways, parts of b.#### are great for this as well, but it can be a little hazardous at night.
"poncho villa" intersects with the bottom of a run that is exactly 1.0 mile and looks to be closer to 30, but I haven't skated it. Something to consider everybody. (luke, it's the same road we did a long time ago but headed away from the valero)
I really wasn't expecting to write that much, it just sort of happend, I may have blacked out.
Who's skating tonight? Ideas on where to go? the B.####/K.Seale runs are always a sure bet. Maybe reagan's run/sugar bear area?
Kelly: are we permanently changing the wednesday sessions to thursdays or is that just for when mr. yandall is here? (speaking about kelly's post in the SW thread)

re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
We'll have to deternine switching to Thursday after we find out what happens on 11/5. So as for now it stays the same. It didn't look to promising last week due to unusual amount of cars. Ya'll be on the continual lookout for new garages. We may have to hit em like we did in H-town, in and out, next.

re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
There's a KCI garage off calahan and medical that I'm pretty sure has 24 hour security, but looks decent. Worth a try.
If we're going to hit it and quit it, We for sure need to make a stop at the chase garage.
Can't make it out tonight, Monday, anyone?

Up in Stone Oak in my neighborhood. There are some steep gnarly hills that have some uphill runouts but the roads suck hardcore. The asphault is so loose in my neighborhood. In Arrowhead (next to my neighborhood) There are some sick hills aswell but most end in an intersection..
Here is the vid of me riding the whole hill. I was going pretty slow since I only started halfway up the hill cause of the dog. If you bomb the whole thing, you have to apex your turns and keep your line just right or you will either slide out to the outside curb, or hit a rock or patch of loose gravel.

I think I've skated arrowhead before, it's pretty sick but you're dodging many a car. Are you the same guy who said you lived in stone oak a while back but there was no where to skate there? I don't think I've ever actually met you before.

Just had a NERD energy drink after falling asleep on my drawings and not realizing it, and it's probably one of the best energy drinks I've had. We should try to work a sponsorship with them again.

When I was in architecture school (Hook em Horns) we did not have RedBull, Monster, etc. We refueled on coffee and NoDoze. Dont' feel bad, those long neverending hours in the lab are supposed to prepare you for when you have to work the really insane hours proving yourself to some asshole architect.
Back to Biz, me and DrKelder skated what we believe is Garcia Heights, we started from the pool and turned left and dropped down to the bus circle.
Got in 3 runs, can't say it was'nt fun................

It was a concern, only so much angle you can get when transitioning the driveway.
What speed do you think you hit towards bottom? 20?
