After almost hitting the guard rail at badland ranch shutting down on mordor doing 45+ would be sketchy as hell.

Luke was that today when you did 48? From the top it should be above 50, I've done like 46 on mikes gps from the speed limit sign.

yeah that jean jacket mitch is rockin would definitely help compared to a loose t-shirt. plus his full face too.

I can pendy pretty well now, I can stay in one lane at the rim so I'm sure that if someone had to shut down at mordor you could at least stay on the road. But I slide freakin forever at the rim and the fastest I'm probably going is mid to high 20's. Above 40 I'd say all bets are off for predicting when you're gonna stop. Maybe I'll sacrifice those sh1tty green 80a s9 wheels at near 40 just to see...I'll need to fix that left pad first.

IMO you should be confident comeing to a stop at what ever speed you might be going one way or another. Ive worked a lot on controlling my slides the past couple months and ruined a set of drifters to uneven wear and flat spots getting better. Staying in my lane really hasnt been a problem for awhile, but I typically only reach 35mph. Your wheels should be fine as long the slide is controlled and you keep the wheels away from complete 90* sliding.

yeah I just don't want the wheels to be fine, their just boring. I keep wanting to put them on a board and thrash them but my other wheels are so much fun to slide/bomb on that whenever I look at them I always go "meh".

maybe now that it gets dark so soon after work I'll thrash them in the parking lot.

    yeah.

I was talking with mike before the first run and wasn't paying attention to what I was doing. I meant to tighten the front truck a little bit, but somehow loosened it. didn't really notice till I got to the bottom lol, hence the air braking. Could have been the bushings settling to. I think I'm gonna swap out the 88a barrels for red venom barrels and see if that's a little better for 40+. The 43.1 run was fun as crap. We need to hit up TJFF soon.

Thumbs up re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!

Know your roots..................this is the movie that set it off. (for me)
I had a board prior to seeing this. (crap) It took me 2 years to (12 yr b-day) until I received a decent "pro-shop" board. (Logan maple, with ACS trucks and sims snakes)

I have not seen this movie in 30 years, be greatful SLAB did not have endure the tech or fashion of 1978.

Lightbulb re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!

alright so it's been a while since we had a group of us together. I've been making a mental checklist of a bunch of spots right around my place and farther south. Luke and I are planning on meeting up sunday morning-ish and checking these spots out.
Almost all of these spots are neighborhood runs, some of them definitely need spotters, the more people that come out the more runs everyone gets.
Most of these runs will be around 30. 35 at most, no mordors or TJFF's on this side of town. All of them look fun though, and it's at least something different, eh?
A lot of these places are right down the street from where I live and I never knew about it...including a secret new ditch that looks sweeeEeeet.
If some people need rides i can put 3 people in my car. No gas money required, just some stoke. We'll go all over the SW side of town and rip it up/try not to get jumped in this one place I found.
Some runs to bomb, some to slide. Lots of tech corners at ~30. Brooms will be required on a few. Plenty of young kids in this one neighborhood ready to have their minds washed with the gnar.
Some places look like they have hills, but I haven't had the time to explore...maybe you can discover you own new run...
At the least lots of ridiculous names will be created for the deserving runs...that's always a blast.

Who's free sunday? The earlier we start the better, no 6am runs mind you, I was thinking around 9:00am we could meet up at my place and head out till late afternoon. RB sesh after that? Could be an epic day. (off of the top of my head I can actively remember at least 2 dozen runs we should try that have never been skated)...I'm in the process of making a list and PMing it out...trying to finish homework first.

    Who's in?

    peace
