Teh players of SLAB talked about the possiblity of going up there, and your right, it's really no distance at all. For most of us a hard hitting Monday night involves dealing with Tuesday morning reality. Me personally, had programming meetings all morning with Bexar County hospital staff (they are building a new hospital).

In a "serves me right" kinda way, I went to see the spurs suck last night.
They dropped one to the bulls in the final minutes.

In closing, San Antonio was a no show. We must do better.

By the way, here are the results:
Grant first
Dorian second
Swampy third
Chubs fourth
It was absolutely vicious between Grant and Chubs all night. Whey ran in the semi finals together, they were one and two for a two man qualifier and still went after each other. Grant drafted Chubs and instead of slinging by he reached out and tried to grab Chub's board twice. All the while Chubs is looking behind him and swatting at Grant's hand. For the finals Grant was right on Chubs again and this time they make wheel to wheel contact(how romantic!) and Chubs goes down on his face and chest around the last turn. Swamp ####, Adam, and Zac also went down. No bad injuries though!

If traffic is that bad on the weekend, hold the race somewhere else.
Or, sense you would have a butt load of people you could set up spotters/traffic stoppers.
Just saying theres other options that could be explored instead of holding it on a Monday night. However, nothing NEEDS to be changed at all. Sounds like it was still a great success and a lot of stoke went down. I can guarantee that none of us SLAB skaters purposely didn't show up just to piss you guys off or anything.

I believe all the core SLAB skaters have some sort of combination of Work/Family/School matters that we place before skating. We're not really the most competitive bunch (not even a handful of us have the skills necessary to compete with the best, and even fewer who feel the need to prove it) and I at least would rather just chill then compete any day. There is a lot of stoke in San Antonio, but theres also a lot of other things we need to take care of to ensure future stoke is possible.

I do not mean to offend anyone. This post is completely my opinion and until others say they agree with it should only be taken as such.

Word. We don't even really have set weekly meets anymore...It was just me and Mike every Wednesday at spec all November and some of December. Hopefuly that will change with Spec this Wednesday though.

In other news, checked out Las Lomas today. There is one SICK hill but those stupid speed bumps are in the way. If you think you can squeeze between them, there are road titties between the rubber speed bumps so it's kinda hard if not impossible. I already tried, got thrown off, and sent the Evo ghosting down the hill over the curb into a stair ledge....

So after burning through my ghetto cutting board slide gloves, I finally got around to putting those ceramic slabs Jake gave me on some new gloves,they look good and im stoked bout trying them out and am so down for a sesh on wed, (as long as i can recover from this all-nighter im pulling right now)

anyway can somebody spill the beans on what this whole "spec" thang is, and if it involves some fairly serious speed would anybody be down with bringing a board with a stiffer flex than my dervish that i could ride if necessary?

(I know the saying wobbles are 90% rider and 10% board but Ive been playing around a little with getting some serious speed lately and sometimes i feel like I reach a point where no matter how relaxed I and concentrated i am on riding it out, my dervish will start to ummmmmmm "jump around/go crazy" and it doesnt really feel like a regular speed woble (kinda uncontrolable) if that makes any sense.

any words of wisdom on this issue?
