Haven't heard much about tomorrow night, ya know Wednesday Night! For anyone interested in maybe switching our second ride for a little slide fest out at The Rim (I-10-1604). There's a real nice patch of asphalt I used to call the West Ridge, over the wittle hill past Lifetime Fitness where I started dealing with some grade and learned how to foot brake. This is unfortunately not a bomber unless you can stop before bashing into da barracades. But yesterday after a few runs at the Spings I took Mike to see it and gave it a run. It's been a long time sence I last carved it up and I have developed a few, just a few, skills and a little more confidence. Now I can slide, drift or whatever you wanna call it. I had a great time though just one run. Mike, I'm not sure what he thought. Tom's been there the 2nd time we skated. There are lights as well. I'll make sure they are operating when I go to work in the am. Just a thought.

re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
Kelly Im down for that as long as we dont stay out too late, Ive always got work on thursday morning.
Mitch Luke and Myself had a nice evening session today at taramount, than new crownridge. I suited up for the first time in a month+, and pulled out a slide at the end of a run for the first time in a long time. Felt good to get out and pick up atleast a little speed, although im feeling some soreness in it afterwards I think from just wiggling into the suit. Im def on for spectrum Weds, Ill be skating to your office Kelly, my truck isnt being driven ATM due to needed repairs we were talking about last week.
Alright heres one of the videos we were talking about tonight:
This is the video of teutonia where the record was set:
Heres the best pic I could find of the Magun's cup washer:

Edit: Heres an even better one http://media.photobucket.com/image/m...e/P1290045.jpg Check out the top and bottom cup washer there.
Heres a link to those blast waves we were talking about. They are 78mm, 79a, even though they are taller than what your set on, with the black ops formula they might be just right. Ill bring them so you can try em out.

I know that hill, me and mitch have hit it up a couple times. The run toward the backstreet cannot be straight bombed for sure. The one going toward lifetime fitness you probably could with just slight carves and air braking at the bottom. However, either way this is not a speed oriented place, if we were going all you guys would have to run your trucks way looser or get some thinner wheels or something to have a real good skate. It's a real fun smooth carver on my board though.
Also, we need to know where we meet tomorrow. If we are going to go to the rim, we might just want to skip garage and take a trip around to new crown ridge, terramont, Babcock, or the springs, cause they are all out this way, not too much further.
@tyler, on the way home i could tell we are onto something with the improvised vape.

re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
So, no Spectrum tonight?
If we are skating north of 1604, what time?
-
re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
North of 1604 would be fantastic for me, I have work at 6am. I don't know how the people who live in the springs would feel about ten guys with skateboards showing up late at night, but we could hit the lifetime hill, babcock, new crown ridge, terramont, ect.
Could everyone go when it was still light out? 6ish?

I should have no problems if above 1604 or earlier then usual. I think that sense kelly, mike, and tyler usually roam together if we can get a general time that they can head out then the rest of us can kinda base our arrival times off of that. Matt, looks like he won't be showing up till the usual time, but no need for the rest of us to wait around : P

re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
So, is anybody hitting the Spectrum or Catholic Life Garages?
You guys who hit the northside early should still hit the garages later. (if you can) I'm cycling for about 30 miles after work, (I need the exercise) then putting my 4 and 6 year olds to bed. I should be heading out to skate around 9 tonight. I'll call sombody.

Yea guys what is the final decision? are you all going to just be hitting up random spots on the northside or is there going to be any garage time?

re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
As far as Canyon Gulf... after midnight would most likely be your only run without traffic. Dropped a buddy off Stone Oak Prkwy/Evans side/top side of the chicane dumping into the school. We ran 2 cagers to fill both lanes and follow him down. Too much for me right now but cherry.
Just in case anyone caught the news... that was my wifes car melting after the gas line explosion Blanco/Huebner. I live right behind the CVS. All ok but out for tonight... peace out.
