re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
i think marnoch is further from springs then evans. but idk, and dont really care about distance. how about other people place their vote for a combination? then like which ever ones get the highest number is what we hit?
tyler springs is like 2 mins from the intersection of I-10 and boerne stage road.
referance map here: http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/3146/67856075.jpg
verde river is the entrance that first turn is a ok sweeper.
colfax cove goes down into verde river and is a really fun mid 20's turn.
san fidel way is the 40+mph bomb.
the parts between colfax and san fidel are like a "U" shape and are about 20 mph if you dont drop into them.

re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
If you could, chop around the wheel wells, kinda "Loaded"-ish style?
An cut some Randal drop thru holes.
That is my girls board and we don't really like that ride height.
To compensate for wheel bite factors I use a .5" riser on that board and together with the truck dimensions, risers and deck thickness it's a bit hard on the legs for a good cruise.
Know what I mean?

re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
Yeah. What size wheels are you running?
The only thing is the wheel cutouts are going to make a weak spot right around where the drop throughs are, so if you use the nose or tail at all it might snap off.
What could be cool (if I can find someone with a router) is to flushmount it and just make the wheel wells a bit bigger. I'd still be about 3/4" lower and would be stronger. If you can let me borrow the trucks and wheels it'll make the whole job easier too.
Springs:
There's no street lights, so some of the hills are a bit sketchy in the dark your first time on them. If we had a car following it wouldn't really be a big deal though. I think lukes saying we just go to those two and skip spec all together.
Today:
Anyone down to skate today? Hit me up.

Yeah, I'd figure you'd know better than me on design aspects, so what you think would work better...I'm thinking of putting some of those Fly Wheel 83's on it...and I'll get you them trucks soon enough.

re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
Those massive wheels? IMO you'd be better off staying close to or under 70mm. Pink powerballs are fun, or zigzags. Maybe even otang freerides. It's just that something smaller will make everything less complicated; smaller cutouts, a lower ride height, and make it easier to push.

Yeah, I gotcha.
I'm just looking to make it a better cruiser than Sec9 did.

Wow springs looks pretty awesome, some nice places and what looks like new road? Not really far from taramount so im surprised we didnt come across the neighborhood sooner. Nic did you already get the 83mm flywheels?

re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
tyler: me and mitch have been in springs a LONG time ago, and yes the pavement is really nice, especially after the rain we had. Nice and smooth for about 95% of it and my wheels actually got CLEANER skating there.
nic: I second the smaller wheels. lower, less thane, and overall easier to do cutouts/cruise on. you kinda ruin the point of lowering it so much if you then but wheels that are going to make you roll 6mm taller then a typical 70mm wheel like a zig, or some s9 race forms, or something of the sort.
Will: yes its basically all about the angle bushing seat and hanger size. They are the only cast 190mm hangers that I know of. The bushing seat looks very nice, kinda reminds me of a crail. and the wider hangers should be more DH friendly. All this adds up to make it seem like we have a nice new truck on the way, but sense no one has ridden them it has yet to be seen. Also the bushings are suppose to be quite nice as well.

Nic what exactly are you looking for in a wheel? Is it gonna be specifically for the nose walker and abigail cruising around on it?

re: San Antonio LongBoarders - SLAB!
if you are looking for something thats pure cruise and your not going to be taking to speed ( i assume you dont want her bombing on it) then a thin wheel might be nice. Less thane touching the road means easier on flater surfaces. Think freerides, powerball, s9 rf 70mm. They all have plenty of grip at lower speeds but can be thrown if you want. sounds like a pretty fun dancer to me, but thats all opinion.
