I get jealous every time I see the "ABQ Outlaw Racing" thread get a new post. Let's start our own outlaw racing series. We could hold a race every other Sunday or something like that. We could do it all over the valley (and of course on Silent Sunday we would have it at South Mountain).
I'm thinking a 20 dollar buy in for each race just to make it interesting? I know of a few good places we could do it that are within an hour. I'm sure there are many more that I don't know of. Maybe if we could do this we could be one step close to getting Arizona recognized as a serious longboarding state. We all know that there are epic hills here, there's just no recognition.

yeah that's what people wanted to do in the 505, but the lack of experienced riders and the ability to do the really gnar courses have led to me to give up on "abq outlaw racing". hopefully yours will be different and when i heal my roommate and I will come race with you.

I like the way you think, but if there is a mandatory buy in, I think we should have more raffles and prizes, not necessarily winner take all or some other distributed cash prize thing like that.
Also, getting big companies to donate or stuff to Arizona Outlaw stuff would be a faster way to recognition. We should make a flyer (once we have a race venue and date) and I might take personal charge and distribute / hang it all over ASU. I have seen a LOT of longboarders who are commuting across campus with lowered speedboards, which means they are at least competent racers. Damn, now I"m kinda excited.
Maybe I'll take a Friday off and even have a table / booth setup so I can draw a crowd bigger than that crazy religious fanatic wearing a sandwich sign telling everyone to repent!
Does anyone know anything about that next pusher / mixed discipline event?

Reason: because punctuation matters
If y'all end up racing a bad ass course, let us Texas riders know. Arizona isn't that far away, and it would be cool to make the trip. What kind of roads/race/prizes would it take for you guys to come down here? What do you think of a South West Outlaw Series? Maybe not outlaw, but definitely and integrated one.

You should advertise to people that you know would be interested but don't make it TOO public. It's called outlaw for a reason If the fuzz get wind of it they'll for sure stop us.

That would be awesome if you guys could make it out here. We have a couple 2+ mile courses and a couple 50+ mile an hours. I have a feeling a majority of them are going to be at South Mountain simply because there are no cars and it is a purely bad ass course. All the turns are banked and it's about 40-45 miles an hour. Plus it's about 2.5-3 miles.
We got other roads too which are also bad ass.

I know I'm definitely down for a 2+ mile 50 mph race. If you give us a bit of time to make arrangements before the race date. I'm sure we'll be able to make it up. Keep in mind that some of the people coming up might work, so if there's a week were everybody gets off for a coupe of days, say like Thanksgiving I think people get thursday and friday off, we'd be able to drive up no problem.

That works. We could do a race that Friday.

hey i was thinking about this thread and i thought that we could race at some spots in fountain hills. there is a couple roads that are a little more than a mile and 35+ mph. nothin to crazy, but it is a super fun hill.
I know of a road that I want to try out up north. You have no idea how amazing this road is. I've driven it but I need to ride it and I want a crew to come with me to try it out because I think it has the potential to become the new IGSA world championship course. who's down to race it with me? 2.5 miles, what seems to be perfect pavement, and amazing turns.
edit: Whoever goes, we'll split gas evenly. So the more that go, the cheeper.

We need to hurry up and go to this course before it starts snowing though. I'm thinking the first weekend of November. Anyone able to do this? We'd go up Saturday, camp or stay somewhere if anyone knows somewhere we can stay(although, I don't mind camping at all), ride it Sunday morning at sun up and then come back later Sunday afternoon.
Who's down?
We're gonna need some video too if we want to set up a race. So anyone wanna tape us?
